Sorry I've not been replying to much - only managed to log on at work quickly today and been a tad distracted.... My nan fell put her front door last night and we spent all of Wednesday night in a & e with her - she's broken her cheek bone and broken her eye socket sad.gif I was sooo upset - that's my nana. I went work today but left early and spent all evening round at hers - me and the other grandchildren took shifts throughout the day! I'm home now (it's 11pm here) but I'm shattered after last night and today and am off to bed.

Night all. Xx
Oh no!! I'm so sorry to hear that! That is so nice that you're close to her, I'm sure she loves having all her grandchildren show up and stay with her and all the love.

I hope she gets better quickly! grouphug.gif

I went to Bobbi Brown last month and didn't bring any pictures. I basically picked out the eyeshadow colors I liked best and described my look to her as a smokey eye. I love the smokey eye look and it really works with my brown eyes. I have slanty annoying eyes and I always want them to look bigger so that's what I told her. My vintage style is more old style glam so the smokey eye works.

Pictures definitely wouldn't hurt! BE PREPARED though... I almost fell down when they told me the total of how much my makeup cost and I didn't even buy everything OR any of the brushes! I had to wait and separately buy other makeup I needed...

Okay, I kinda figured out the picture thing. Sorry for the HUGE picture! I'm not sure how to resize it since it's directly from the web. I'm going for this look but with less shimmer. If it doesn't work out I'm flexible and we'll see what the makeup artist comes up with!

It's worth the money IMO.

I can't see it. Try using Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket to upload the pix to and then copy and paste the fourth link into the body of the message and it should come up.

Oh Really? That expensive? I thought I'd take my current make up with me and only buy what I need. Like I love my MAC powder so I would not trade that or my Cover Girl mascara.

Thats so funny Amy, I call my eyes "squinty eyes" or "beady eyes" which I got from my dad. They are like 1/4 of the size of FI's - who has beautiful big eyes.

Yeah that expensive... for me at least. I don't wear makeup at all during the week, I mean not even face powder, I'm such a slacker and I love the feeling of my bare skin against the wind, even though, I'm sure I'm the only one that appreciates this. wink.gif

I use organic Korres powder which is good but will not withstand the humidity. I told the chick, I need to withstand, wind (LOL, I just wrote wine by mistake) humidity, sweat and tears. So she gave me some heavy duty sh*t. I ended up getting mositurzer, eye cream, corrector, concealor and the setting powder, the all over setting powder, blush, waterproof eye liner in the pot with the specific eyeliner brush and waterproof mascara.... 3 eyeshadows and I think that's it... sooooo yeah I DID buy a lot. I'm used to MAC makeup too, Bobbi Brown in comparison is $20 per eyeshadow and their brushes are PRICEY!

I was warned about this before I went but I really love makeup and products and yet I only wear it on the weekend. I'm really into good face cream though and their face cream super rocks!

Can I say Happy Friday to you all?! friday.gif

Oh man I didnt event factor make-up into my budget. I'm lucky though to have a friend that's amazing at make-up. She's one of my bridesmaids and will do it for me when we are there. I too wear very little make-up. Mostly because I suck at applying it. So I guess I'll probably be spending a fortune on it. Maybe I should start aquiring little by little.

Question: Are you girls buying all this makeup b/c you're going to do it yourself the day of? You've got me thinking I need to get on this!

AmyKH, I'll try your suggestion about the pic and see what I get. I'm trying to paste directly from the web without going through an storage site like photobucket but I think I'm technology challenged. It's weird b/c I can see it on here but no one else can!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
