Hello,

Well my day is quickly approaching.Grand Palladium Palace. We are leaving April 17th and getting married on April 22th. Looks like some of us will be there at the same time. My surprise shower is happening this month, not sure which day, and the bachlorette party is March 27th. I get to pick up my dress on March 29th can't wait to take it home. This site has helped me so much. I love coming home after work and reading what people have posted during the day.

I'm also thinking of having the beach party, but i haven't rerseved it yet. I thought i could decide that when i got there? I'm trying to take it as it comes. It's not always easy.

Hi!! welcome and congrats. Yes time is definitely flying!!!
I'll still be there when you arrive and for your wedding, maybe we can meet up one of the days!
Hope your planning is going smooth.
I thought so too, just had to confirm the beach party when you got there, but clearly not! so if you already decided you want to do it, confirm with Carolina, this way you know for sure.

Wow!! that's a bit crazy -- 200 just for the speaker. I know my FI won't go for that! haha, he has all the speakers they have in his office (too bad we can't bring them) lol.

That's good you heard from Carolina and got it confirmed!!

I got some really bad news today sad.gif My grandmother has breast cancer and needs to get her breast removed. They made a deposit for our trip, but obviously will be unable to attend. I am devestated and feel guilty because we had a falling out a few years ago. I called my TA and left a message, I just hope there won't be a problem getting their deposit back -- that would be crazy if they didn't give it to them! sad.gif

So sorry to hear that. My thoughts and prayers to you and our family. Don't stress the small wedding stuff too much, concentrate on helping your grandmother through this. Your fiance and family will help you pull everything for the wedding together.

Sorry to be a downer today -- but I just spent the last 45 minutes crying!! AHHH. Not only did I get terrible news about my grandma today, but I decided to look up flight times for our trip and found out the price has dropped 200 dollars. I am devestated because a lot of people that booked were struggling with the price, and I feel like they were pressured by our TA to book and now it's gone down drastically -- 400/couple. I am so upset today after both of these things sad.gif I'm going to call my TA in the morning.

At this point it's cheaper for everyone to forfit their deposit and rebook!! sad.gif

sungoddess....chin up sweet heart!!! Things will work out, I find a good cry does the body good, and lets you think with a clear mind. The cry sucks at the time, but boy, makes you feel better at the end of it......just don't go shopping after...lol

Peanut....Welcome!!!!! Where abouts in TO are ya? Were leaving on the same day!! How's the planning so farhuh.gif

So the FI and I went to the Embassy.....easy peasy!! the only thing is they tried to charge us for legalizing our birth certificates...If I wouldn't of questioned it, I would have been out 560 bucks.....oouch!!! We were there 10 min, and met a couple who are getting married at Dreams around the same time. He is a native from the DR, the clerk asked him for his birth certificate, he coudn't produce one because he was born in the jungle......wild!!!! How does he know how old he is?? or when his b-day ishuh.gif? The girls at the embassy weren't surprised, they said they hear that alot!!!!

Getting ready to go now......So I understand now that we have to book for the beach partyhuh.gif??

The same thing with me, she told me if I wanted the beach party I had to confirm because she had other requests for that day... and I about lost it, because I have emails dating back to September requesting and trying to confirm the beach party.... it's all set now but man, if we decide when we get there then fine- but if not, don't tell all us brides it's a decision made when we arrive... StREsSFulLL!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
