Sometimes a friend/co-worker can be uncomfortable in these cases. Does the photographer you used have BD experience?
I think it would be such a fun shoot to do! My at home photog doesn't have BD experience, but I might look into finding someone in my area that does. If I don't do it for the wedding, I might try for our 1st anniversary gift :)

That's a great idea doing it for a 1st anniversary gift. It would give me an incentive to stay in shape for another year =)

Leah, the FI was definitely excited. No we didn't register for that...that was there gift. They wanted to get something, 5-10 years down the road we would say "Our bridal party got us that" It was amazingly generous!!!

Yup 2 months...crazy...

How is planning going?

I have definitely been MIA for too long- honestly finally getting very busy w/ wedding things. Hope everyone's planning is going well! We got our invites done & sent out last month. Ordered bridemaids dresses, did our registry, and now getting things together with our church at home. Now to start figuring out all the details for the big day....talk to you all soon.

Hey just wondering, I'm under the assumption if you rent out La Brisa and all your guests r staying at the Lindo/Maya or Del Mar/Beach then you don't pay a guest pass since we would be paying an additional fee per person for dinner and drinks ($50 pp) @ La Brisa? However, is this relative to the # of guests attending?

Pujo, I am not sure because we are all staying at the Del Mar and eating at the private reception (Italian) for the 4 hour party =)

I didn't even know that the Steak house at the Grand was an option. Where are all of your guests staying?

You can rent out La Brisa for a fee. The iberostar wedding dept has been undergoing changes to update it i was told. I guess its a sign of the times with DW's. Ask your WC.
We still have to fnalize the date with them so u guys r way ahead of us. Our guests will be staying at the Maya/Lindo. I will keep everyone posted with details. Good luck.

Hi Shannon,

Planning is going great! We are starting to get alot of things checked off the list. We will hopefully be sending our invites out by the end of this week or next. I have gotten a few of my bridesmaid gifts in (Monogrammed totes and flip flop luggage tags) and just have a few more things that I want to come up with to include.

I've just been so busy with planning and school that I haven't had time to come to BDW =(

I also just started working with a personal trainer =) I was lacking some motivation and figured if I was going to be walking around in a bathing suit for a week with my friends and family I needed to tighten up! So I've been busy working out alot too. Its only been about 2 weeks so we'll have to wait a bit more to start really seeing results. It's fun though and definitely getting me pumped for the big day!

Anyhow, I can't believe how quickly our days are approaching! You must be getting so excited!! How is the rest of your planning going??

I found a photography studio that specializes in pin up and boudoir photos and have made the decision to do the shoot - they don't have anything prior to the wedding, but I might try to do it right when we get home and before our AHR. I'm excited!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
