Hi there! Just wondering if there are any other brides or brides to be that wore or are planning to wear a short wedding dress? I have looked at a ton of dresses & actually bought one I am not in love with but I keep going back to a short dress I bought that I intended as a reception dress. My mom thinks it would be fine to wear for the ceremony as well and would match my FI's khaki's and linen shirt. Any thoughts?

You should wear whatever you feel great in!! Personally, I'm not even wearing a wedding dress. I had a tea-length multicolored floral sundress in my closet that I loved and that's what I'll be wearing!! FI will be in ivory button down, short sleeve shirt and khaki shorts. We're pretty untraditional wink.gif

I think short is fine, my second fave dress is short, and I keep thinking about going back and getting it. My choice is shorter in the front and full length in the back, I'm getting the best of both worlds.

Go with what you love and makes you feel most like a bride.

i bought a short dress that i'm totally in love with. but then i decided that i was going to have bridesmaids afterall and their dresses are off-white. i didn't want to blend in with them so i ended up getting a long dress. i don't get very many positive reactions about my bridesmaids being in white...but i'm planning to show people that it'll look great!

any pics of the short dress you got?

Go for it! There are so many cute short dresses. I tried one on when I thought I was doing the regular wedding thing here in AZ. I didn't want to disappoint FI's family by not wearing a "wedding" dress. Now, we're eloping and it doesn't matter. I love the dress I got, but it's just a reminder that you should always do what you want in your heart and don't try to guess what others will think or please everyone else.

I am also wearing a short/tea length dress. It my 2nd marriage, his first, and we are trying to stay as low key as possible while making it as elegant/classy as possible. I don't think I have enough posts to be able to post pics or I would post the dresses I have picked out..a good friend of mine is a seamstress and can recreate the dresses for me so I don't have to pay those big price tags.

i always say wear what makes you feel good!

i can relate about the bridesmaids...mine are wearing black and everyone thinks i'm crazy asking them to wear that in mexico. haha...it's not like they are wool dresses. i let them pick their own dress, and they all loved that, it's other people who hear i'm doing that say i'm crazy.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
