Congrat! that is very nice! one thing off the to-do list!!!
Ahollo, for legal wedding, it has to be like 3 to 4 days in advanced, the Royal PDC offers packages that u can arrive like 2 biz days in advanced.

Congrats Jrb and skadow! Wonderful news you have your wedding dates!! :o)

ahollo02 - we have to be in the country 4 day before the wedding at our hotel. So we hope to fly on the sun and marry on the following saturday. That's the plan anyway. Until flights come out nothing is confirmed.

I have just been looking on the hotel site and one of the basic packages ($1520) doesn't include flowers, hair etc.. so will have to add that all on! If i go for a higher package it means they limit guests (or pay more) and you have a dinner in a banquet room which we dont want....hhhmmm decisions decisions... Good ones though, (i'm not complaining)...:o)

I originally was going to do the legal ceremony and it was 3 days prior...now we are doing symbolic, i don't think there is an amount of days you must be there before for symbolic. If you arrive on Sat you should be fine for Tuesday. We are getting married on a Tuesday and were going to fly in on Friday...but due to flight prices we are flying in on Thursday now...so that only leaves us one real day after the wedding because we fly out on the following Thursday...but we'll get home on a Thursday so that gives us plenty of time to get back in to work mode for Monday!

Barcelo WC said 4 days in advanced for legal ceremony, and 3 days in advanced for symbolic ceremony (Sunday and Mexican Holidays excluded).
The Royal PDC WC offers 2 days in advanced if you go with the expensive packages. Therefore, you have to ask the WC at your resort.

I think every resort is different. I'm getting married (symbolic ceremony) on a Monday, and we have to arrive on Thursday. The resort's website says for symbolic ceremonies, you have to arrive 1 business day before, but the off-site wedding coordinator said 2 business days. So even if the website says one thing, I'd confirm with the WC....just one more example of inconsistent info! Sometimes it gets frustrating :)

Michelle,
I know, flowers +$200, hair +100...etc it adds up fast! I was looking at the Strawberry package, $3080, but only for 15 persons, so..at $60 per guest extra, the bill can go up pretty fast. I am looking at another place offers $3800 for 35 persons...seems offer better value, because it is highly likely that I will have more than 15 people. Not to factor in the exchange rate forecast (not a concern for American brides, but a concern for UK and Canadians), a swing like in Oct 2008, can add 20% more on the cost ( I know I know...I am over-analysed at this point).

Congratulations jrb on getting and confirming your date... yipee!!!! smile159.gif

ahollo02, I think its a sunday the flights from the UK so we would probably be looking at the friday of the 1st week and then have another week before we leave :-) Im sure arriving on a sat then getting wed on the tues is fine but like cjb0arder13 it would prob be best to check with the WC as resorts vary.... and so do wedding brochures!!!!

Ive sat and made some more Barefoot sandles and more invitations this weekend & added 1 or 2 things to my website.... I will post pics of old and new sandles at some point when i take pix and see what you ladies think, and which you perfer, Also i will post a link to my website when its had a few more tweeks done to it :-)

Its so good seeing more people getting the wedding date etc confirmed, So pleased for you all.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
