I'm not sure what we are going to do exactly....I'd rather not pay to upgrade (we are doing the luxury package - but will have about 50 people) but the cold just don't sound very good! Just wondering what other people are thinking :)
What do you get if you upgrade? Or do you mean upgrade from the cold to hot?
They don't sound all that great to me either (esp. the eel! :) ) but we're doing our reception right afterwards so we really didn't even care if there was food at the cocktail hour. But we were told that we couldn't just do an open bar.

I have to admit, last night I e-mailed Suzanna just to confirm reciept of my faxed contract...and I did not CC Carol and I recieved a response this afternoon! That was great....terrible that I get excited to get a response to an e-mail!

So my contract was recieved and I finally feel like I have a wedding schedualed there! She said they normally ask which package and flower options and all of that 6-8 months before. Is this the same for everyone else? We are 10 months out, so it's not big deal to wait another 2 months...just wanted to make sure everyone else was on the same timeline!

I have to say this forum keeps me sane!

Wow, its good to hear that so many of you are getting things done with Zulma. Ive also been in contact with her and Michele at the resort because of a miscommunication error in the states and have had no problems. They are all great!

Ive actually heard good things about the cocktail menu. I don't think anything at the resort is bad

Hi Ladies,

Not sure what is up with the food for the cocktail hour and if this was a change to but we got the hot options for no extra charge. Granted this was back in November before any new fees were imposed, luckily I got it in writing. I would ask about this. I am only doing my ceremony and cocktail hour at the Royal and they just mentioned the regular $10 fee per person. Zulma told me I could pick any of the hot or cold options. I agree I felt the cold apps were not that appetizing.

Well I heard from my WC today and while I can understand that there is a 400$ site fee to cover the charges of tables, linens, lighting, setup, etc... I just wonder why this was not mentioned in the first 12 emails or the checklist. I'm not that worried about it, because like I said I understand and my MIL is paying, but still it's just the principle! Also, the resort is almost full the week of our wedding and I'm getting nervous because several guests haven't booked yet. Some are waiting for tax returns to be safe financially. sad.gif Makes me sad that some might have to stay off site.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
