Las Caletas Couples ~ POST HERE!!! (**All LC Brides...PLEASE READ 1st post, red text)

I don't know if it is the DJ that plays on the way back but they do play music on the boat ride back.

Yes that extra hour could get a bit pricey that's for sure....looking back now I am glad we did do it though because even with the extra hour I didn't want it all to end!

I was looking a little closer to the time line for the wedding and when you break it all down.. it doesnt seem like there is enough time.

Wedding starts at 6:15
Cocktail hour from 6:30 to 7:30
Then dinner, toasts, cake cutting
Then you leave by 10:30

It just doesnt seem like a lot of time

Do you/ or did you feel like there was enough time?
I too was concerned about not havign enough time. I am having the mariachi band play and was concerned about the timeline so I email Kelley and this is her response:
I would love to be able to provide you with a timeline. Can you first give me a better idea of how many guests we are working with. The mode of transportation affects the timeline. So, for instance, if you take a Sailboat, you leave the marina at 2:30 pm…. If you take the faster boat, you leave the main marina terminal at 4:00 pm….. Ceremony, initially in both cases is at 5:30 pm – and dinner starts around 6:45pm……

With the mariachis, I would have them start probably a little after the boat arrives, give your guests a moment to use the bathroom if they need to and freshen up, then start them. So they would play before the ceremony, after the ceremony and into dinner. Does this helphuh.gif

Ceremony then usually lasts 15 minutes…..

IMO you could easily skimp on some of the extra flowers or centerpieces. LC is beautiful as is and doesn't really need a lot of decoration. Other than my bouquet and the table arrangement that our package came with we didn't add anything except for a bag of rose petals for the aisles.

I just got back from our site visit to Las Caletas. I am so happy with our decision to book it for the wedding!!! It is really amazing and I love Kelley. I am so happy we did this site visit as I feel so comfortable with Kelley now. We talked all the way home about the whole wedding and I am pretty sure we are going to add the extra hour. I think it will just go by so fast too!! I agree that not much decoration is needed...it is gorgeous on its own and it sounds like the put a million candles and torches.

I cant wait until next February now!!!

In my opinion that is much easier to get to and find than the one in PV and it is literally right down the street from the Vallarta Palace. (not really walking distance but pretty close).

Our group stayed at the Vallarta Palace and we did our welcome dinner there as well! It was nice! Can't wait to hear how your trip goes! Take pics!
Hey Andi, I am so glad we saw Vallarta Palace. It wasnt really on my list intially but my TA recommended it. We were treated so amazing there from the moment we arrived. Angeles worked out a one night rate for us to stay there last night too so we didnt have to come all the way down again from up north where we are spending the week. She had champagne waiting in our room and a special table at Mar Intimo with flower petals and a candle. It was so nice! We saw Dream PV and didnt like it as well and agree it is a lot further and more difficult to get to the marina. VP is perfect in that respect too: The RIU screwed up my meeting time with them so we didn{t see it and that is fine...looked too big anyways. I think we are def going to book VP if we can get a decent rate. She said if we have around 20 rooms booked we get free private functions as well so we can have a great welcome dinner there. Andi...where did you have your welcome dinner

So happy we did the LC site visit and toured the hotels...couldnt be happier with the decisions we made.

Cant find the apostrophe or question mark on this Mexican keyboard...sorry for the typing!!

Interesting! I got a different time line then that.

I got more of a -

Arrive at Las Caletas at 5:45
Wedding starts at 6:15
Cocktail hour from 6:30 to 7:30
Dinner/Dancing/ The Rest from 7:30 to 10:30
Leave at 10:30 and get back at 11:30

I wonder if the time line has changed

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
