That's about one of the only good things that's happened this week. Unfortunately my company had a bad year, which means no bonuses. Pay raises are minimal. I did get promoted, but based on the pay raises... it didn't turn out how I'd hoped. I know I should never count on a bonus but part of me was hoping I'd have a little more money for some more fun things in the wedding budget. C'est la vie...
I know how you feel - we've got to that stage where we need to start paying for everything and now it feels like every breath I take revolves around money and I hate it. I think weddings should be free!!! lol

haha that's what I thought Nicole when I was reading it all.....but I'd be the same I know. just wish there was something I could do to help you all out. I know it's hard to believe and a bit of a cliche, but it will all work itself out and you will have an amazing day...I know that doesn't help now, but I hope you can all manage to get sorted out what you can :)

ah amy.....WE TOLD YOU!!! lol don't be disappointed!! that should be celebrated!!!!!!! sing it from the rooftops!!! smile159.gif

Ok, so last week I had my first dress fitting! turned out to be a very expensive trip which I wasn't expecting as I have already paid for it!! I am having to have 2" off the body off it where I've lost weight - and alterations cost £165, and then I didn't realise I had to buy the hoop seperately! that was another £60. but hey, at least I'd lost weight and needed it taken in I suppose!! I was kinda hoping my mum would pay for some too (please don't think I'm money grabbing - it's just she hasn't contributed anything to our wedding so I thought maybe the stuff to do with my dress would be something she'd want to help out with) so that was money out of our budget that we actually don't have - depressing sad.gif

I have also ordered my TTD! and my BM dress! and got my wedding jewellery, and bought our guest book for our AHR :)

I went shopping with my BF on saturday for my BD photoshoot and got loads of stuff! got a garter to go with my wedding underwear shot, got an England football shirt with 'Mrs Day' and '10' on the back :) , a small football to go with the shirt, some stockings (white, black and fishnets), fake pearl necklace and bracelet, a feather boa (sp?!), french knickers, false eyelashes....and thats all I can remember off the top of my head!! lol I still need to get a black corset and just make sure I've got all the accessories I need and then I'm done! 23 days until I get my kit off!!! hahahaha!

oh and my hen night is all organised for 10 April by my amazing remaining BM! she's been great - she just wants to help so much, it's like she can't do enough...and apart from telling her names of people to invite, she's sorted out all of my hen night....and it's been BLISS!!!

have also paid off the whole cost of our 'holiday'!! (as everyone has essentially booked a week or 2 week holiday package) so we're all paid up now to go!

Happy Monday ladies!

Thanks Meghan, and you're so right, I am happy I've lost the weight...just wish it didn't have a monetary cost to it! but hey, it's a small price to pay for looking better!!

Katie wow you did a LOT! Congrats on losing weight too that's awesome! Now you see why I'm disappointed... now I have to get it altered AND I have 3 more appointments to add to my already busy schedule.... sigh.

I'm so happy to hear everything is going smoothly for you, that's the best!

I finished my bridesmaids hair flowers over the weekend. I like them but have no clue if they will, they all look the same but who knows, someone could not like them.

I also received my new garter and my veil. I am still not sold on the veil... I think I look like a fool but we'll see.

I also bought a whole bunch of OOT bag items which is good but with every purchase I am going... "seriously how am I gonna bring THIS!?"

Katie I agree, all the payments are due now and it's like my head is swirling with spending money. I have no one that has contributed a dime to my wedding either... and to boot, I've had to loan BOTH my mom and FI's parents a substantial amount of money in the month of January... talk about added stress.

Hey girls, I have been MIA. Getting back to work and finishing plans for the AHR. Its this coming weekend and it should be awesome. I need to work on my planning thread and will once everthing is over.

Lolo!! Happy wedding day! You are going stunning bride! I am very excited for you. Can want to hear how is went.

Kitten - OMG you are so hot!! Seriously you are a classic beauty. You are going to take your Fi's beathe away. Sorry you have to get your dress taken in but like the girlls said better to take it in than let it out. I lost serious weight (from stress) the last month before the wedding, so if you have a fitting close to the wedding date, it will be well worth it.

momiche - We got married legally in Mexico and are doing out Catholic church blessing this weekend. I would say try and keep it a secret from as many people as you can so you can really enjoy your wedding me Mexico.

Welcome
Andrea, thank you for the compliment in the above post, that's VERY sweet of you!! I've done a lot of "working on myself" in the last 6 months.

You're probably right, the dress will fit better this way, I just wasn't anticipating hundreds of dollars more of an expense!

Anyways, I've got your site up and ready to look at as soon as lunch hits for me, just based off the couple photos I peaked at, you are a STUNNING bride!!! Love that dress too, so much!

Hi Girls-I'm Erin and I'm getting married at Azul Sensatori May 14th 2010. I've been reading some of the posts on here and it's been very helpful. I do have a question about what everyone is doing with decorating the gazebo. It's pretty expensive to buy those colored sheets. Is anyone bringing that from home? Also-bridesmaid boquets. I have seen that some people make silk boquets to match the 'real' brides boquet and bring those. Any thoughts?

-Erin

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
