This is a question about the $500 deposit put down to secure the wedding date. In the contract it says that the $500 can be applied to ceremony/reception upgrades. Does this mean decorations, cake etc....What are you guys upgrading using the deposit?? Will they let you apply it towards the sound system or something like that?

i dont think it matters what you apply it to bc you have $500 to use. for example the ultimate package is like $2700 and since you paid $500, then you owe $2200. if you used the $500 specifically for the sound system, then you would still owe $2700 for the package...does that make sense?

to be honest, The Gazebo is really beautiful as is. The only thing I brought with me were Chair Sashes and the resort wrapped them around the chairs during the ceremony and then wrapped them around the chairs at the reception for me. I was up in the air regarding decorating the Gazebo, but after all is said & done, I am so glad that i didn't. It's just a really beautiful spot (I am sure it still is even with the new beach)

Yes you shuld def make your appointments now. If there is more than one wedding that day, you could get jipped out of an appointment. When I went, there were only 2 people doing hair, so I had me, My four Bridesmaids and 2 mothers that had to get done, so I started everyone at 11am and the last appointment was mine and that was at 2pm. I can;t imagine if there was another bride with bridesmaids that needed their har done that day. So make your appointments now & save all confirmation e-mails and take them with you :)

I got married June 24th of last year and although it was windy, it wasn't as windy as I have seen it for other brides, but it really is a hit or miss. It was really windy during our rehearsal which was the day before.

This is what I heard back from Cecilia about the size of the gazebo...I'm not sure if it's what you were looking for but I think it gives me an idea of what I need.
"The Gazebo column is 2.5 mts each in the lowest side. When we have the white drapes we have the ones are 5 mts long and 1.2 mts wide, we double covered them."

p.s. I think I almost had a seizure watching that video...what a beautiful couple and a gorgeous wedding day, but jeez...no videography skills whatsoever, especially the beginning...is this the resort videographer?
That isn't how your actual video is, it's just the highlight video (btw $300 if you want one).. it's kind of like a teaser. The actual video will flow nicer and not be so jumpy.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
