Alright- I have some questions for any former Catholic brides.... How did they set up the ceremony? Is it a full mass? Do they let you choose the readings & music? I can't find any answers to that. sad.gif

I was just married at the Barcelo on Feb 25th and Karen was our coordinator at the resort (I was corresponding with Gabriela via email). She is very good at what she does and will make sure everything is the way you want it. Do not stress with slow response times, we saw about 5-6 weddings a day at this resort so they are constantly busy. You will meet with her a few days after your arrival to review ceremony sites, reception locations etc. so no need to panic.

Feel free to ask questions if you need any further info!

By the way, Tammy and Trisha were our photographers (they posted comments on this thread) and I would highly recommend them if you are still undecided. They are so fun to work with and take amazing photos.

I was debating between both of these resorts as well, until we found out that they do not accept outside photographers on their resort. This was last year... Hope this helps.

Hi Michelle,

We went with Ocean Scents I believe...it made the most sense. We had 25 people at our wedding. Congrats!!

It's so frustrating as the flights are not out for May 2011 yet so we are having to wait! :o(

I had an email from Victoria Robledo today. Has anyone else heard from her? I've had 3 emails from the hotel about info and every time it's somebody different.

My friend got married at Iberostar Maya last May and she used the Photocaribbean photographer (based at the hotel) and her photos are gorgeous to. We are thinking of using them and hope our photos will be as nice!

Just saw this thread get bumped and I got excited thinking maybe Trisha or Tammy posted more photos from their recent DW there.

Girls check out Trisha's post on the resort:

Tooo funny. At a friends baby shower this weekend meet a girl who is getting married in Mexico..."Oh where in Mexico, Riviera Maya, oh me to, I am getting married at the Barcelo (look of shock), me to!"

Thanks for the info. I was thinking of just going with Blueberry Dream as we are not really wanting our reception on the beach..... This is something we need to look at more though. Plus we are coming from the UK and having an AHR so don't want to spend to much out on the actual package. Hopefully we will have 20/23 ppl coming out with us....

Laura4ever - small world ah? Great minds think alike! How funny!

Thanks! and I love your pics! Except Del Sol is a bit over my budget.
That is what I heard about at both of the resorts (The Barcelo and The Ocean Turquesa), and it tunes out that as long as u book a room for the vendors, they usually let them in. However, I guess I really need to sort this out.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
