I just emailed again the beginning of this past week so I figured I would give it about a week or so before either calling her or emailing Carroll
If I were you I would keep checking with her.. I sent my credit form and the next day I got my contract and a day or so later they withdrew the money from my account. I thought it was a relatively fast process.

Just sent you the menus in case you haven't gotten them yet from someone else.

Is anyone upgrading their wedding cake or just keeping the standard one that comes with their package?

I'm a cake freak but hate to spend the extra money on it if I don't even know how it tastes!! And can anyone tell what kind of icing it is? It all looks like fondant to me. :/ I was hoping for more of a butter cream.

I think we are going to upgrade, based on the amount we are having. (Around 50-60.) Tastewise, I prefer buttercream over fondant as well, but do you think there might be a melting issue with that?

A couple of the girls have mentioned that the tres leches flavor is really awesome, so I think we will prob go with that. Dont know about other flavors though.

Thanks- I was thinking about something similar. Jesmcan, thanks for your input as well!

"Hi ladies yes the price of maracas for the big ones are $3 - $3.50 and than medium $2 - $2.50 and smaller ones from $1 - $1.50 however it is true you can haggle with them. Especially if you say ok I want 20 you can get even the big ones for $1."

Thanks 2mckee! I love tres leches cake. And you are right about the buttercream melting. Too bad. Hopefully the fondant doesn't taste too bland!

Hey everyone,

I'm new here but wished I would've joined earlier! There are so many answers here that I had to wrangle from Kimberly and Angie over the past six months.

My wedding is at the Royal on May 10th, 2010. I noticed there are a couple brides with that wedding date - my reception is at 6pm in the Oceanfront Gazebo. Leaving in 2 months!!

I recently had some trouble getting in touch with anyone in Michigan and finally just said I would hold on the line until Angie could finish what she was doing and talk to me. She let me know that they pulled her out of a meeting with the people from Mexico in order to talk to me. I guess it was the infamous big wig meeting you all mentioned. It worked - she sent me what I needed over the weekend! I am now contacting Zulma directly and hopefully can work with her from here on out.

One question for you girls - I hadn't planned to bring any decorations for the gazebo with me. Does anyone know what comes standard (I have the Luxury package)? I know the white linens and seat covers are included for the reception, but wasn't sure if there were any decorations inside/on the gazebo aside from the flower arrangement. What are other brides doing if there isn't anything included? I don't want to lug too much stuff with me, but I think it looks really pretty in some pictures I've seen with the white fabric hanging down. Can you rent it there?

i received information from angie (my WC) last night - at about 10pm! it was less than a week after my last e-mail to her. a great improvement from the 2-3 weeks it's been. so let's hope that this is a good sign!

i don't have to pay the $400 for a weekend ceremony after 4:00 since that policy was implemented after my contract was done. hooray! hopefully the trend of quicker responses will continue!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
