So I was a little late, okay a lot late on the whole dress shopping thing. My mom has been bugging and bugging me, but I just wasn't in the right mindset.

Well we went to a shop on Tuesday and found a few dresses that were okay, but nothing we loved. Then last night we went somewhere else and tried on like 15 dresses and then I found Maggie's Talia in ivory and fell in love.

Then came the best part... they told me I could buy it off the rack for $250!!! We go back tomorrow to pick it up and take it to get altered. I feel like the stars aligned on this one...

Hi IslandBride!
You're so lucky! I get my fitted on March 22 and can't wait. Im not sure about the bustle, would it be hard to do one on such a flow-y dress? Ill ask the experts when I get there I guess. Congrats on your dress!!

Wow, I have been browsing this whole thread for what seems like hours this morning! And I didn't see one of my fave dresses on here yet...has anyone tried on/seen in person the Ashanti dress? It looks absolutely beautiful...I still have to call around to see if any stores around here carry it, but right now it's my inspiration :) Not a huge fan of the bow, but I'm sure that can be changed. I'm hoping to try on some Maggie dresses tomorrow if they have appts available still.

LynnieS-Here is the pic we took of what the bussle would look like on this dress..

They actually have to bring it up from 3 different points on the dress to make it look even. If they just take the middle of the train and bring it up, it leaves like "wings" on the sides.. Heres how it looks like that.. hard to see from the picture..

So if you decide to get the bussle make sure they bring it up from the middle and the 2 sides of the train to make it look pretty cheesy.gif

I am so excited just bought my dress yesterday it is Madison. It was the first one I tried on and everything else that I tried on after just did not compare. It was great. We returned to the shop later the same day with my bridesmaids (mother and mother in law were with me the first time) I tried on the dress a third time with the veil and hair flowers and we call cried it was the one. Cant wait.

Love Maggie Sottero

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
