Alternatives to OOT bags?

Recommended Posts

I agree...all those $1 items totally add up when you have 40+ guests. Think I'm going to invest in a small oot pouch or cosmetic bag with welcome letter and itinerary. I think the guests will be just as surprised and thankful that I didn't give them more stuff that they'd have to lug on the way home.

As a "get ready for the trip" present, we're making a CD of party/island themed/drinking songs. We'll give that to them a week or two before the trip. That won't cost alot and we won't have to pack them in our suitcases to give them out there.

We're also having small candy jars engraved with our names, the date and the island name to give to them at the reception dinner. We're going to fill them with sand from the island as a reminder of the trip. We only have 15 people coming with us so 15 jars isn't too expensive or much to travel with. We're still debating which company to go with but it looks like most estimates on the cost are $120-$175.

so i found a good idea on this board to provide some sort of lei or bead necklace so your guests can identify the people there for your wedding... i am thinking that and a thank you note with travel info is good. i am not sure i want to spend money on a bunch of stuff who knows whether or not people will use.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
