Laser Eye Surgery - anyone's experiences?

Has anyone else had Lasik? i had it about 3 weeks ago and was wondering if any of you had it and if so, what kind of after effects you had?

My eyes have been getting tired really quickly from adjusting, especially on the PC and in the car at night.

The doctors say this is all normal and takes some time to go away but it is always comforting when someone else is / has gone through something similar!

Thanks!

I had it almost 5 years ago now ... went from almost legally blind w/o glasses to 20/15 after the surgery --- and my eyes are still that good.

However, driving at night means more halos for me now ... and if it's raining -- forget about it. I also get eye strain from lots of time in front of the computer (this darn forum isn't helping!!!) ... but other than those small things ... I am ssssooo glad I had it done and can't imagine still wearing contacts/glasses.

it is really safe and you live close to me - you just have to make sure you go to the best people - in our area that is Kremer Laser Eye.

it was instant - i had bettern than perfect vision within 32 seconds and could see every detail on the ceiling immediatley - pretty crazy!!!

I had it about a year ago and my eyes were really, really dry for about 6 weeks and I saw "halos" around lights at night. Are you using Systane eyedrops all the timehuh.gif (At about the 6 week mark, all my symptoms were gone and have never come back, btw)

I'm getting lasik next Friday and am so excited! But the Dr. mentioned that depending upon what type of lasik you have (meaning all lasers, or some cutting with a machine, etc) effects the amount of healing time you need, especially night vision.

For example, she said that people who have ungone lasik using the laser now to actually make the flap take longer to heal and experience more night vision issues like halos and stars than those that use the sliding machine-thingy to make the flap.

I'm going laser all the way, b/c I'm scared to death of the machine that looks like a lawn mower go over my eyeball, so I'm anticipating having at least 3 weeks of night vision effects until they heal fully.

Keep us posted, so I can see how you progress!

I am doing this befoe the wedding, but haven't booked it yet. I have the paperwork, but haven't actually done it. It was either this or laser hair removal. I told Matt I want one now and one after we are married and I am so looking forward to being on our honeymoon and not having to rollover and put my glasses on!!!! Keep up updated on the progress!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
