The Royal in Cancun 2010 Brides

Recommended Posts

Hi Girls!!!!

OMG I am so happy to have found all of you I felt so alone until now!!! I am so happy for all of you!!! Congrats!!! I am planning my wedding for May 6th 2011. I have been trying to get my questions answered so I could put down my deposit for my date and I just want to say that the main office here in the US is so rude and unprofessional. So I know what you girls mean. We are just going to have to help each other it seems. Girl power lol! Last year I was in contact with Patty Hernandez by email and we were experiencing some communication problems. After reading all the requirements to get legally married in Mexico me and my fiance decided to get legally married here in the US first so I would only need a symbolic ceremony. She didn't understand this and when I asked if I could have a family member perform the ceremony and use our own vows, she replied with a Big NO and I was heart broken and was ready to choose a different resort but decided to call the US office before I gave up all hope and it turns out according to them I can have all the above no problem. So yay back on!! But now I am faced with a new problem they want a deposit before they will send a copy of the contract. I never heard of such a thing. I know its not a large deposit but my video and photo services have sent it no problem for my review so I'm a little worried. If anyone has a copy I would love if you could email me a copy at k_cheerbear@hotmail.com. This would take all my worries away. I look forward to staying in touch with everyone.

Kristie, you should recieve some sort of booking form prior, that should give you full information into thier "contract" then you send the deposit, and then you recieve their "ghetto" contract, because seriously its like nothing, and I never even recieved a signed copy from them. But yes, I sent my deposit without a contract first.

Stayed at the Royal 2x before, and it absolutely does not have "another hotel of the strip feel" its a luxury resort that literally pampers you. Base the size of the beach, for the month of your wedding. I was there last in Dec, and we werent even allowed on the beach, it was being reconstructed. If you go to tripadvisor.com and check out some of the photos, the newly reconstructed beach is unreal! Granted to know big storms hit there, the beach should still be at that size. Again, I was there in May 08 and I believe that was after one of thier last hurricanes, it was still a great size, but wouldnt even compare to it now.
By the pool, they have guys that come around with fruits, books, theres a guy who cleans your sun glasses, he also comes around with lotions. Every restuarant is delicious!
I can go on and on about this hotel, but you can read reviews at tripadvisor.com

Hi everyone, just wondering if there are any brides who have prices from their travel agents for november/december 2010 for cancun. We are getting married at the end of december and leaving from canada and the prices are almost doubled than any other time, I know that it is Christmas but it is crazy. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same thing and maybe how much you guys are paying per person?

To all the Brides that have booked Gran Caribe/The Royal:

I filled out and submitted the information sheet on their wedding website. Do I just sit back and wait for them to contact me? I'm not sure if I should get their direct email and get the ball rolling or just wait. My wedding is not until December 2010 so there isn't a huge rush. I'm just excited to get things going! Thanks and best wishes to everyone for a fabulous wedding! smile159.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
