Ocho Rios:

Jamaica Inn

Goldeneye Resort

The Blue House (B&B, not on beach)

Falmouth:

Starfish Trelawny - this is an all-inclusive, but we have been there and the food is amazing, and the entertainment is great. There is no 50% rule. Weedings are $350. Day passes are only $50 per adult, and $30 per child. Private receptions run $35-85 per person.

Runaway Bay:

Breezes Runaway Bay - All inclusive, no 50% rule. $65 day pass

The majority of the rest are all inclusives w/high day pass fees.

Hi,

I have a similar situation, I have about 50 people fr canada and usa and the rest of my guest is in jamaica. I'm getting married at sunset jamaica grande, ocho rios in september. the day pass fee is waived if you are having a private reception, your guest will be allowed on property 30 mins before the wedding. they need to arrived dress for the wedding. if you are not having a private reception you have to pay $90-120 for a day pass. i have all the info and the wedding co-ordinator patricia is wonderful so let me know if you need help.

As NegrilLB has suggested a good option is to go with a villa location.

I've searched many villa rental companies and have found it does pay off to shop around.

A word of advice. A villa can be featured on many different sites. Some even have their own company site where you can contact them directly. Depending on which rental company you enquire with the price & what can/cannot be accomodated varies so shop around.

(Im having approx 50 guests & have negotiated a 3 night stay for a pro rata rental fee directly with a villa in Discovery Bay).

For example some rental companies say the minimum rental term is a week while others have 4 night minimums for the same villa with a 10% surcharge on nightly rates less than a week.

Also many villas will charge a $15 fee per guest not staying at the villa which I suppose is like a day pass.

The Jamaican Treasures site has an extensive selection of villas & include event planning, specific wedding villas etc. Also good to research locations out there.

If you know there is something specific you want it's likely it can be negotiated fairly close to your request. I sent out the same email to some companies of what my specifications are & requesting a quotation for services. Their responses were varied some more dramatically than others especially as each rental company are familiar with their own vendors/planners etc.

Best of Luck

I stayed at the Rose Hall Resort (Hilton) in Montego Bay and we loved it - it's a beautiful resort and the food was great.. It is pretty close to the airport and isn't all-inclusive (although I think there is an option to pay extra for all-inclusive if ppl want it) so hopefully there isn't an expensive daypass. I don't know anything about weddings there, but there are lots of great places for pictures ... if you want to check it out, the website is Montego Bay Jamaica Resorts & All-Inclusive Beach Hotels - Rose Hall Resort & Spa. Good luck with your plans!

Hey Karla,

I totally feel you. My fiance is from JA so having our wedding at an AI was impossible and way too expensive. We are having our wedding at Hibiscus Lodge Hotel in Ocho Rios, JA. We are using a wedding coordinator preferred by the hotel. It was after looking long and hard, but in the end this was the best choice for us. You can find out more info on the hotel at hibiscuslodge

Good luck and Congrats!

I ran into the same problem and decided to have our wedding off the resort. We picked an exotic location through Tropical Weddings Jamaica. Trust me going this route is less expensive and Almarie has so far been awesome!!! I've heard nothing but great reviews about Almarie and Tropical Weddings Jamaica.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
