May 2010 Brides!

Recommended Posts

Finely - That's exciting! I got all my OOT bags and whatnot and everything else I just need to get all the dollarstore items for them.

I have been designing stuff on Publisher lately which is so fun and easy. Made my menu's and programs and just had them printed at Kinko's yesterday so I need to cut and ribbon them now. Working on finishing my DIY hair flowers for the bridesmaids and my dress and shoes should come in this week!

Lady Di pointed out to me too that my photog blogged a BD pic of me which was more shocking than anything but flattering none the less, you can't really see my face or tell it's me but it's one of the racier pix.

FI is out of town all week on business so I plan on getting a lot done while he's gone :)

How's everyone else getting along?

I haven't done anything sad.gif I did start ordering things such as raffia fans...it sucks because i want to order an exact number instead of an estimate. i should start working on the program/menu but we haven't picked our menu selections. Lol. next month, i'll get my butt on it!

Hey girls, hope everyone's doing well!

We just got our pens, photoshare cards & little welcome cards/timelines for inside the OOT bags from Vistaprint. They turned out really cute (I'll try to post a pic later).

I'm in the process of making a "shoes optional" sign. I bought some lt blue stiff felt, around 11" x 18 ", in the kids craft section at Michaels & white fabric paint so I just painted the words as a test run & I think it'll be OK, but I have to do the final version. Also got some painted wooden flip flops to glue onto the sign.

We ran into a bit of a problem with our groomsmen shirts yesterday though. So, our colors are aqua, green (kind of clover colored) & yellow. The groomsmen are wearing guayabera shirts & I came up w/ the bright idea of having the embroidery down the front match the girls' dresses (so one light blue, one green & one yellow). Only problem is the shirts came in & apparently the yellow is REALLY light (had them delivered to Chicago where 2 of the groomsmen are so I haven't actually seen them). But according to my sis-in-law, it's kinda hard to tell it apart from the ivory shirt. I also can't tell if I really like the green. sad.gif Now I'm not sure what to do. She sent me a pic, but it's hard to tell w/ lighting & everything how it'll really look & I'm guessing it won't show up in pictures at all. I think we may end up re-ordering the yellow with more of a gold or orangey yellow thread but it's such a pain in the butt. It took over 2 months to get the stupid shirts in the first place. Very frustrated about this, especially since I can't see the shirts! boooo

I'm really trying to be calm about this... how did things go from (last year) people's reaction being "Oh! You're getting married how exciting, oh next year that will be so much fun!" to... "OMG, your wedding is in 2 months! You must be freaking out!" YEAH, shhhh don't remind me please! LOL

I completely know what you mean. We will be leaving the 2nd weekend in May, so I really only have March & April.... GULP. I feel like I'm so far behind.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
