Dreams Cancun - Questions for those married here!

Recommended Posts

We are all confirmed and deposit paid for November 3rd. I contacted Mannia and he told me I had to reseve through Cecelia, we are having the garden for the reception. We are having the DJ and the light up dance floor. I figure it is expensive but will create a fantastic ambience! Can't wait. Tommorrow I am going to start on the invitations as I have alot of people coming in from Europe!!!

Thanks everyone for the dress congrats! Tori and Tiff... I'm having the opposite problem. Everyone is telling me I'm losing too much weight (i'm not trying to p*** anyone else off, i know i used to be p***ed when someone would say they were loosing too much weight), and everyone keeps commenting on it and I am a little scared because I eat well and frequently and am not trying to lose. But I'm losing my boobs too. I'm hoping it's just stress and not something serious. I just don't want to look like a skeleton on my wedding, I'm usually very curvy, like in my siggy! Anyone ever tried those ensure drinks/ (my little cousin had to drink them when she was sick to gain weight). Again, I hope I'm not making anyone mad, I think we all just want to be our ideal weight , whether it's more or less than what we are.

Now while this makes me jealous it doesn't p** me off :) I think everyone deals with stress differently. I personally eat more when I'm stressed out!! I wish I could flip a switch and go the other direction. I think personally since my wedding is more than a year out I'm not feeling any stress yet. Iâ€m anxious about buying a dress and gaining weight later! How sad is that!

Correct, you don't piss me off I'm just hyper jealous - when stressed I eat anything in site - from food, to chewing pens to eating my fingers nails - disgusting and bad I knowsad.gif However in regards to shakes, protein shakes can help, one of my best friends loses weight at stressfull times and she often drinks the meal replacement shakes as drinks instead of meal replacements, so adding the extra calories into her daily intake. Good luck with it :) I am sure you will be a beautiful bride with our without your curvy cleavege!!

OK, in regards to DJ Mannia, I emailed Cecilia about the discount and was told it does not apply to Dreams brides, I requested any sort of discount they could do as it seems a bit unfair that we are unable to book directly as 30% is a large amount of money to save and never recevied a repsonce....... has anybody had luck getting a discount on DJ Mannia through Cecilia??

i laughed hard at this ... you just *know* all the chunky chicks (like myself) are calling you a biatch in our heads! wink.gif but seriously anyone with any kind of weight issue (read: all women, lol) should understand what it's like to have problems achieving their ideal weight, whether it be less or more. grouphug.gif

it is likely just stress and nothing more serious, but do try the protein shakes. and if you have other types of symptoms or are still worried then definitely see a doctor. unexplained major weight loss can sometimes be a sign of bigger issues.

that said, stress made me eat *everything* that wasn't nailed down for a whole month prior to my wedding, and yet i was still losing weight despite it all! of course, those pounds came flying back after being happily married, lol!

there are a ton of threads on this forum regarding weight/diet/exercise, so check them out as well. it's a tad off-topic for this thread. in the meantime, invest in a push-up bra? hehe lookatme.gif

that's what she said to me and I havent heard back either. do you think if we contact dj mannia through here, they can work something out with the resort? if not i'm using the mexican trio during dinner instead of during the cocktail hour and just having the dj for the two remaining hours of the reception. I feel like we are already paying enough for dinner and alcohol plus the welcome dinner!! 30% would help out A LOT!! we'll have to keep each other posted

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
