So, as it seems everyone is having a difficult time getting an answer from Ana. I am also planning on booking Claudia for my photographer and I am about to send her a deposit, so has anyone gotten a straight answer on having an outside photographer? As for the Plan B location if it rains...has Ana told any of you where or what it is?

Yes- We can have an outside photographer and IF they are staying at the resort there is NO fee. This is what she told me.

honestly Ana has been coming up with some outrageous fees, the fact that the DJ is over twice what they actually cost to be is just dumb founding, that being said we started our planning with the reception and after allot of frustrated hours and lack of sleep were actually to get over 1/3 off the original 'posted' price and get a whole bunch of other stuff included in the price that originally were note... my point being I think that this stuff is up for negotiation.
So you negotiated with Ana? Do you mind if I ask what specific things you negotiated price on? (You don't have to mention prices at all, just things like.. centerpieces, etc!) And good for you for negotiating and getting a cheaper price!

DRC uses 2 djâ€s Dorremix and Mannia

According to Ana (and I believe the wedding prices on the website) DJ services are 300 USD + taxes per hour minimum of 3 hours

Dorremix prices however, they let it out of the bag to other DRC brides which Ana now does not allow, is that their prices are actually USD 650 for 4 hours

So USD 650 vs. USD 1200 for the same 4 hours!!!

I was soo soooo mad when I found out, like the hotel tells us we have to chose between two DJs and then what in the world are they charging us an extra USD 550 forhuh.gif

Sorry it feels like I am just going on rants here, donâ€t get me started

Oh I havent negotiated the price yet, we are not sure if we want to use the ipod anyway or go the DJ route

things that were negotiated were at Secrets Maroma, things like cocktail hour, chiavary chairs, speaker /microphone for reception, mariatchi trio etc. basically as part of our cocktail hour package these items are now included... I found that it was tougher to negotiate price and easier to just get things that you would want anyway included

Oh nice...I'll look for it!! Thanks for the heads up :) That would be a HUGE bonus if it was only $48 per person!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
