We just got back from our wedding at Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort and it is one of the most beautiful properties we have stayed at. We travel often and we were, as was everyone in our group of 45 people, extremely pleased with the property, spa, food and staff. No one had anything bad to say. (However, some of the parents commented that they were mislead about the Emperor's Club. They were told before booking that they could leave children there and receive a pager, but once there that service was denied). Nevertheless, we actually referred several people to the resort before we even got there. We have nothing but great things to say to all who have asked about our trip back here at home. We're quite certain there will be a few more guests in the future, as well as a few within our group that have expressed interest in another visit there.

Regarding our wedding. Ours was a week of sunshine, except for the two hours we needed for our outdoor pool gazebo ceremony. If you are planning a wedding here, the only thing you need to have is a good Plan B in case it rains. The resort photographers are absolutely amazing. They were kind enough to give us another photo shoot the next morning in the sun on the beach, which gave us an unbelievable collection of photos. If you want to see their work, here is the link to the slideshow they made for us Nelli & Ivica
THank you for the review and your photos are beautiful - I actually prefer this location to the straw gazebo...what patio was this? I asked Ana if there was another alternative to the beach or gazebo but I think she told me there was not one...but I like the looks of this location even better. My fiance doesn't want to be married on the sand, and I really did not care for the look of their gazebo. What did you think about the alternate location?

Mindy - this wasn't my wedding, just a review of someone elses who posted it on the Dreams Riviera Cancun facebook page :) So I don't really know any other information about her wedding. I'm not sure what the location is called, but maybe you can include a link to the pictures in an e-mail to Ana and ask if you could get married in the same location as that bride!wink.gif

Nicole...I just deleted the buffet menu from my computer by accident the other day sad.gif I know, though, that it was posted it a few pages back. I had originally thought that the price for the buffet was the same as sit-down dinner but a few posts ago, someone said it was $48 pp. Hope that helps!

Just want to wish you the best of luck, and of course I can't wait to hear all about it when you get back :)
Thank you! It's crazy! I can't believe it is so soon either! I will definitely post a review for everyone and hopefully have some answers for a lot of our questions!

This was in front of the entrance to the club. We saw it on our visit and it was actually pretty nice. There's not a whole lot in the background though. It would be perfect if it overlooked the water.

I think I am going to take a few days/weeks off from this wedding planning!!! My wedding is only about 4 months away and I never seem to get any straight answers from Ana, the resort, my TA... blah blah blah!!! I think I need a break to recharge! This process is so frustrating and not knowing what I need and do not need from Ana is starting to wear on my nerves!! ha ha!!

Here is another link to photos if anyone is interested. It looks like they had their ceremony on the pool deckhuh.gif I actually like the set up of the chairs w/o bows so I might forget about my chair bows. Also, I love her flowers and I am assuming this is what mine will look like since I want pink callas.

Thanks so much ebernard - those pictures are actually great

we have already moved our ceremony off of DRC, reception is at DRC but I have to say this is a much better area, seems allot more to the side, only thoughts I guess is that its not on the sand, which might make footwear easier but more of a likelyhood that unwelcome guests will work infront and be in pictures

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
