Thanks to your blogs I feel prepared to handle whatever may come. You all are so supportive and that is awesome so i'm excited to share this journey with you all.
Congrats and welcome Leslie! Happy to have you :)

I agree, that for me was the absolute hardest decsion. Believe it or not it starts out hardest and just keeps getting easier and easier as you get more experience and advice from all the girls here. It's so nice to have a support system that we lean on and look to for help, I'd be a total mess without these girls!

You should be seeing pictures in a few weeks from two of our girls Andrea & Amy Morales that are getting married this Saturday down there.

Let us know if you have any questions :)

My first tidbit of advice! Get a group contract together!! :)
AND get a good Travel Agent! If you don't like your Travel Agent too much from the start, trust me it won't get any better.

Only option is to find these brides with weddings 2 days before and a day after mine and see if they have any extra rooms. I am going to post now on the Forum and maybe other bridal places. haha

Otherwsie, overflow will be the AS. I was even considering moving the wedding to AS, but then I thought - no if people waited to book then thats that...
Oh Amy I've been following your situation and how terrible!! I just had a crazy stressful manic week b/c of our group contract, people not paying, going to lose the whole block we had set aside, etc. I was so frustrated at having gone the group contract route until I read about your troubles.

I wish I had rooms to give you! I feel sure you'll get this worked out. And as a fellow AB bride, I'm happy you stuck to your guns and didn't change resorts just b/c your guests dropped the ball. AB will throw you a fabulous wedding and you'll be so happy!

The worst part is that YOU'RE the one stuck trying to work this out, and not THEM. If only our guests knew how much stress they caused us... I'm sending positive thoughts your way!smile03.gif

Thanks!

Its funny now - kinda - how both ways - groups and individual bookings - are full of frustrations! I guess that's why planning a destination wedding is not always easier than at home!

I found out that Friday and Saturday are the nights that are totally sold out so I am going to do split reservations. I also have someone checking on the Azul Villa for me - I would love to move family over there and then have all the friends in the Azul beach Hotel. Fingers crossed!

Now I have to get to my To Do list instead of working out these rooms that ppl were too busy too book! pssssh!

Now I am getting nervous about my block. I emailed my travel agent to see if she would match Orbitz rates. She said the best way to do it would be to get rid of my block and just book individual rooms. AHHHHH!! I am against that right now, because I don't want people to not get a room OR end up paying full price for the room!!

I am so sorry yall have had to go through this...any advice for me? I am starting to get really worried about this stuff!!

The Villa is beautiful - we saw it on our site visit and it's right on the property, but I think it is super expensive.

Good luck with everything and if people have to stay at AS, it is their fault - did they not realize that a holiday weekend is a popular time to travel!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
