ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Well, I definitely found a better rate than what my TA was giving me - here's what the website Playa del Carmen Airport Transfers | Cancun - Playa del Carmen ground transportation gave me. ALSO - I should find my date twins and hook up and get the same rate for all of us - if we combine all of our weddings together maybe that's an even bigger discount we could get!!

Here's the email I got from them:

Having everyone book their own service would work best. A percentage discount is better than a rate per person. Right now, a private round trip service for 2 people arriving alone with the discount would be 85USD. If more people book at once (same arrival/departure) the costs go down.

We also provide shared transportation, but those units stop at other hotels as well, so I don’t think is the best option.

The children travel free in the private units. For the infant if a special baby seat is required than he is counted as a person.

I repeat, there are public rates visible on our website, but with the group code the discount applies, and the guests are notified of this prior to booking so they can rest assured they receive the best rate. You just have to let everyone know the discount code (post it on your wedding website/ send it by email). A dedicated link with info for the event can be set up on our webpage.

I think it depends on when you booked. The rates changed at some point to $300/vendor now. If you were quoted the $100 keep those emails and use them! At some point they may try to go back and tell you it is $300. Treat those emails like gold!

The vendor rate is listed in your contract, that is the rate they will honor. The rate depends on when you booked your wedding.

I'm having second thoughts and thinking of do the legal stuff here (if the city hall here doesn't make you say the vows- I just basically want to go to city hall sign the paperwork, get on the plane and off we go) the thing is we are only telling our parents and no one else. Im nervous about people finding out during the ceremony we are already married. Does anyone know how real it appears doing just symbolic?

I would appreciate any advice on this....
We just decided to get one of FI's friends (who isn't coming to the wedding) ordained in our state (TX) and have him marry us. That way we don't have to do any of the "formal" marriage stuff before our symbolic wedding (no kiss, no ring exchange and no vows). We haven't confirmed everything 100%, but I've researched quite a bit and it seems really easy and cheap. We're not telling anyone if we can help it, either.

That's a good idea Jen, saying we signed the certificate the day before...that's what I'm going with too!!

One other question, has anyone found out when you do the wedding at home, is there a way not to do the vows and ring exchange? I literally want to go to city hall sign paperwork and say OK now we're married, but I'm not sure if that is legal...I guess I could call city hall and find out.
Oh no! Your wedding and reception is very real and not fake at all no matter where you have it! Don't let anyone, even mom, make you feel otherwise msnwink.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
