Ana does not really answer all of the questions you ask. What I have learned to do in writing a email with wedding related things.

I will number my questions example
1) Is there a additional price to have a outside photographer?
2) If so how much would the cost be?

When they do not answer your question send the email back and say you did not answer number 1 lol

This seems to work for some reason. Good luck girl I know it is frustrating it will all work out. smile03.gif
hahaha- i do that too... and almost EVERY time I have to say- WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER PART TO MY QUESTIONS?! hha

Sorry I've been MIA lately - I've been ticked off at my TA so was just trying to take a break from all of the wedding planning! She still makes my head just want to explode, I feel like I'm hearing things here.. but she is saying the COMPLETE opposite. Like when I asked her about the fee for an outside photographer and she said that there wouldn't be one. But that's not what I'm seeing on here! Is anybody else having this problem?

Or when I send her a list of questions and she just sends some little reply back.. I'm not writing out my questions just to practice my typing lady! Answer my questions! Ah! Sorry to vent!

In regards to all the talk about deposits.. I still have not paid mine yet..
Welcome back!! I agree sometimes this whole wedding planning thing can be stressful - I'm having the exact opposite of you my TA is wonderful and is probably more concerned about these things than I am at the moment! She has sent Ana a few more e-mails regarding the deposit etc. since she does not want me or any of my guests booking rooms until the wedding date is confirmed in writing... she does not want to go through all the motions to find out that Ana has double booked or our date isn't actually going to work out. Just remember in the end you'll still be married to your FI and everything else won't matter.. it's easy to get caught up in this stressful planning! However that's easier said than done... I definitely feel mini pangs of stress every once in a while.. especially when I'm on here and see that Brides (who are getting married after me) have already planned way more and have booked way more than I have! Good luck :)

I'm getting married at DRC on May 27th at 6 pm - the sun is supposed to set at approx 7:20pm - beach pictures are supposed to be best 1 hour after sunrise and 1 hour before sunset. My only concern with the time is if I will have enough tim for photos while the sun is up.

Thanks Kym! I think I'm just stressed because lately I keep thinking.. for all of this money my FI and I could just elope and then spend a few weeks traveling around Europe. So it's just that I either want to do this wedding right.. or not have all this stress and have an AMAZING vacation! Surprisingly, the fiance is the one insisting we have a wedding.. because he says my mom would be upset otherwise. Haha! I'm also not having anything booked/ordered/etc until I have the contract in my hands.. although my TA says she has it.

Has anyone found a great vendor for linens and flowers? I have been in contact with the vendor that I was recommended by Secrets Maroma but although they have been lightening fast in replying the lady seems to really completely miss in the mark in terms of what I want... I checked out the vendor section but cant find linen referrals, what are the rest of the DRC ladies doing?

I am looking for a nice coral in satin to dress the cocktail tables, extra linen for the wedding gazebo, rose pomanders for the chairs, and pintuck turquoise linen for the dinner tables, also I am brining or renting star lanterns again Ana doesnt understand that they are to hang above not on the side as per a common picture that is floating around here. I have emailed Mishka who does maracas but I am at a loss of who else to contact. Thanks!

As for linens, flowers and chairs I was planning to just give Ana pictures of what I want and use whatever vendor they use for that stuff. I emailed Ana a while back and had mentioned that my colors were pink and orange and I wondered what color linens I could choose from - she said the resort rents the upgraded chairs and linens so our choices aren't really limited. Am I confused on this? If we wanted upgraded chairs and linens are we supposed to find our own vendors?

I'm getting married in September - the sun sets at 6:47 on my wedding day so I'm getting married at 5:30 - I've also heard the best time is the hour before the sunsets which is why I chose that time.

Thanks ladies for not making me feel like a diva! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one stressing out about hair and make up!

For the ladies having problems with your TA - if you're not too far along and are considering changing I've been working with Berman Travel and they've been super wonderful!

I'm so glad I found this forum!!! All the info is great! We just got our contract for our wedding October 8th, 2010!!! From all the info we're doing a beach ceremony at 2pm then a cocktail hour at 5pm, dinner and dancing on the pool deck at 6pm and then we will probably continue the party in the resorts club. Does anyone know how late the club stays open?

RDSJCR: I'm doing something fairly simple in terms of the reception, so all I'm really worried about are the flowers, etc. for the ceremony. I've been looking at a lot of inspiration boards to get ideas...this gal has some particularly good advice: San Diego Wedding: Being a "Turquoise Bride"

I would like to have a white boquet and have the bridesmaids carry orange. I'm thinking about having the guys wear khaki suits with a turquoise tie. And I've picked out my bridesmaid dresses (in mermaid): David's Bridal - Short Chiffon and Charmeuse Dress with Flower Applique Detail

I'm going to bring artificial flowers for the bridesmaid boquets.

As of now, we are planning on having the wedding at the gazebo, and I'd like to have a couple of gazebo corsages, along with a nice alter centerpiece. But I'm at a loss for color/flower ideas for those.

What about you?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
