Hacienda Tres Rios Brides Post Here!

Hi Ana,

I need to check the info that I've received so far from Luis but I don't think that $185pp/pn seems too far off. We are meeting with Luis in person this May to go over wedding plans and room prices so I'll know a lot of details after that. He did offer FI and I a rate of $150pp/pn for our site visit which I thought was awesome.

I don't know if this factors into things or not but Expedia rates don't include taxes or ground transfers.

Also, I've been working with a BDW travel agent and she says that she can also book though the Luis/HTR which might be a good option.

I'll get back to you with more detail after I go through my emails from Luis.

Hope this helps...

Hello everyone! This thread is full of great information, thanks so much! Holly and I are "late to the game" as we were just engaged at the end of Nov and we'd like to have a 2010 summer wedding. In our favor, we are planning a small simple ceremony, but want it to be somewhere beautiful and the HTR seems to fit in so many ways! We're ready to put the deposit down on the wedding date - the only outstanding issue is that there are no preset wedding packages for us to compare possible costs to other resorts.

If anyone would be willing to share costs for items that are part of your wedding (provided by the hotel), either posted here or via private email, please let me know.

Thanks in advance, and we'll share more here for others as we get info from the Hacienda.

Holly,

Your reception will be $20 pp. With that you get standard chairs, linens, simple wood dance floor, dinner (Oscar will make anything you want) and wedding cake. Also they do a welcome cocktail party, which Luis will refer to as an ice breaker. Everything else is extra or can be upgraded. Cost wise, this is much better than other resorts, especially those that use Lomas to coordinate. Also there are no rules on vendors, meaning you can use who Luis suggests or you can find your own.

I posted my wedding album back a few pages ago, if you want to take a look and are curious about how much any of the decor cost, let me know.

Good luck ladies, you will absolutely love HTR. Luis really is a doll, he is just always busy. You have to remember that this resort does huge corporate outings, they had a Maxim photo shoot, did the celebrity golf tour, etc. He coordinates everything.

@AshManahan - thanks for the info, and as soon as Holly & I have a chance to look through it together we'll get in touch.

Can anyone give any info on the state of the beach / water at the resort? We've seen pictures on Tripadvisor of pretty blue water, but also read in many reviews that the water is dirty/cloudy/dark due to the river(s) dumping in to the ocean near the resort. That is basically our last sticking point on making a decision.

Thanks!

We have heard $185 per person per night but it seems a lot cheaper on expedia. What type of booking rates did you guys get?
Also - what type of wedding packages did you receive?

Any pricing information will be extremely helpful!

Thanks!!
Ana

Cheaptickets.com was significantly cheaper than expedia when we checked/booked.

It doesn't include ground transfers, but you can book that seperately and still have a good amount of savings...

just a thought :)

I've read those reviews as well, it seems it's cloudy at the point where the river enters the ocean, but if you walk south on the beach you'll have clearer water. I'm hoping it's true. The water looks pretty in some of the user-posted photos on tripadvisor.

Let me know about the beach! We were there on a site visit but it was really cloudy and the weather was bad so all the resorts we visited had really murky water and we were told it was from the currents. I'd love to know what it's like regularly though.

Also - do you know how many restaurants are in the property?

We know the following but let me know if there are more:

Main buffet restaurant - on the main floor w/the bronzed palm trees

Mexican restaurant - upstairs

Pool Restaurant - by the pool area

Thanks!!

Ana

The beach is not marvelous, but I will say it is better than any other in the area. The water is blue and you are able to walk into it without cutting your feet up, like other resorts in the area. They are constantly working to improve it as well. Unless you are going to book your wedding in Maroma, this beach is as good as it gets in the Cancun area.

Dining options...you have the brick oven pizza place and grill outside by the pool. The grill is also open for dinner, think grilled food :) Upstairs mexican. Downstairs buffet. Next to the buffet downstairs is a restr. that switches between Italian and Asian each night. Also there are 2 theme dinners a week outside.

I'm definitely planning to take TONS of pics while on our site visit in May. Let me know if you have any specific questions for Luis or if you want a specific picture of something. I can't wait to see the place in person!!!

Ash---is the 'ice breaker' included in the $20pp for the reception. I thought that Luis said that this was an additional $20pp but figured I'd check with you since you've been there and done that.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
