Okay, I sent a msg to my friend who I left borrow my p90x set. I'm getting it back and starting it, too! Can't wait!

I only want to loose 10-15 pounds by spring 2011. However, I really want to tone up. Even when I was at my goal weight, I was totally a "fat skinny girl"..sad.gif

Hi Ladies! I have read about 10 pages of this thread, and really need something to tone up. I could definitely lose a couple lbs, but mostly need toning. This may have already been answered, so I'm sorry about that.

I have a question for the experts. Will I be able to do this with my level of fitness? I'm going to be completely honest *blushing* I haven't worked out in about a month in a half, but before that I was working out very steadily with weights, cardio, yoga and pilates. I still get a super little workout with my dog walking, but that's been about it.

I hear about how much people are so so so sore and am curious how this workout achieves this at home? I guess I've just been a gym person, so I'm a little confused...Any advice is appreciated!! I'm so happy to see all of the great results everyone has had!

Note: just tried on some bikinis to see where exactly I was at. Not pretty.

I just want to start off by saying, I'm not claiming to be an expert here by any means but I have completed P90X and just started it all over again last week.

I used to be a gym person but then getting to the gym and paying for parking started to wear on me and I kept hearing great things about P90X. FI and I did it last April and I've been been in better shape. I even bought Insanity, another Beachbody DVD program of intense high impact cardio to see how that would work for me and I got better results from P90X, Insanity had less toning effects on me except it really got my abs looking nice.

If you haven't worked out in a few months it may be a little rough at first but doable. The difficulty with P90X is that the workouts are on the long side 1 hour, 75 minutes and 90 minutes and each day focuses on a certain area. So an hour of Shoulder's and Arms or Legs and Back really works the same muscles in that hour, over and over. Soreness is common and frequent in this program but it works. I am at the point of needing toning, lose some body fat and this works. The diet is pretty important in this which is rough at first but not impossible and not only for advanced athletes.

When I first started P90X last year I couldn't do a single pullup and not many pushups despite frequenting the gym. It was amazing to finally be able to do pullups on my own without a chair.

Good luck, hope you join us!

You're welcome! :) It's helpful to have this thread to follow while you do it as well, helps you stick to it a bit better.

Down 20lbs!! That's amazing! Keep it up :)

P90X is very hard on the knees you're right, it was smart to intigrate different workouts that were easier on your knees.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
