thanks in advance :):)
DJ Mannia brings the light up dance floor. I have to say that he was worth every penny! The DJ kept everyone on the dance floor all night and the MC was terrific. It's nice to hav eall your special moments introduced instead of trying to take care of it yourself. I would highly recommend them especially if you are having your wedding on the beach. I can't imagaine that an iPod would be anywhere loud enough with the wind and waves. They also bring extra lighting which is great for the beach. Go with Mannia:)

I want to use an outside photographer, but I've seen people say no. However, what if he is one of my guests? Can they stop my guest from taking photos? He did my friends wedding here in the states, and he does amazing work, and this is the only thing I want absolute control on. I would be paying to fly him in, and I would pay for his room for the night, and he would be one of my 20 guests. I was going to have him shoot my bridal pics in my hotel room (while I touch up my hair and makeup and get into my gown), and then have him come down with me. Couldn't I just say that he's my cousin or something? I would ask my WC, but I contacted them a while ago (the form says they will get back within 2 buisness days... HA!) and still no reply... grrrr, so techinically I don't have a WC.
I am not sure if policies have changed but I got amrried this past November and I hired an outside photographer to shoot my wedding. No one gave me a hard time about it.

We now have to keep it VERY basic because we had some things already planned and a lot of people already got their passports and i lost my job. I also sent them an email asking if we brought some tulle and some fake flowers we could decorate a little ourselves but I didnt know if that was a no no. Thanks for taking the time to respond to my message! :)
I emailed you the price lists that I have and saw your other posts...you can definately take any decorations you want. We are taking the gazebo stuff and silk flower petals for the walkway and the center pieces; anything to save money :)

So speaking of gazebo decorations...

I e-mailed Cecilia to see if I could hang things from the gazebo. I think the answer I got was yes, even though she didn't say how I could do it. My question to you all is, do you think the hanging beads in the background of the picture (from the movie I love you Man) would work in the gazebo? Cecilia thought it would look good but I'm not sure how the wind would work with them.

You can't see them great in the pic but in the movie they looked really pretty :)

I just got married at Dreams last month and everything went very smoothly even though I didn't make any final decisions until a few days before the actual wedding. We made up our own playlist the night before we left for Cancun and we ended up having plenty of songs left over. Just be sure to have the important ones on a separate playlist (processional, march, recessional, first dance, etc) so it's easy for the technician to locate. For the reception, he just let the playlist go but you can request to change the order of the playlist. He was very good. The only difference I can see in having just the sound system vs a DJ is that you would need to find someone to MC the evening. You can also get a light up dance floor without a DJ, but it does cost extra. Though I didn't end up having my reception on the beach (due to weather), the sound system was definitely loud enough. Good luck! Let me know if you need anything else.

yeah the beads looked really pretty, but you'd have to find a way to secure them to the ground as well b/c they will fly around everywhere...the wind up there is no joke!

Thank you so much! i greatly appreciate it! So they will put up the decorations you bring? I thought I would have to do it myself!!! That would be great because we were trying to figure out how we would fit that into our morning schedule lol. Any additional info that anyone feels beneficial to me please let me know! i am kindof clueless. Thanks, Melissa

Hi Dream's Cancun brides- I am currently working with Jill to book our wedding at Dreams Cancun on May 9th of 2011!! I have been engaged since last May and we will be getting married exactly 2 years from the day he proposed :) I have been lurking on these boards for awhile and I'm excited we finally have committed to location! I think I was starting to drive myself crazy with all the options!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
