What are your thoughts on that?? FI felt pretty strongly about including everyone whose wedding we attended. Don't get me wrong...I'd love to have a huge group there to celebrate....but I also don't want to go broke paying for the wedding since FI and I are fully funding the event!!
Hey, My fiance and I invited almost the same amout we sent out maybe 175 invites and well that is not including the +1,2,3,etc. LOL... We at the moment have around 60 that RSVP and booked there flights... Just remember alot of people in the beginning say they are going. (we have over 80+RSVps, not all of them are actually going) Then as the time gets closer people forget to save money or etc. and then they can't make it... I'm telling you we had the numbers rise to the high 80s and now we are back to the 60s.. (Thank God, hopefully it stays like that lol)... Good Luck... smile03.gif

andim--we are doing a rehearsal dinner and having it at one of the restaurants. we are only inviting the people who are actually in the wedding so that it doesnt take away from the reception the next day. that list (with spouses and flowergirl parents) is around 20 so they will be able to have us all sit together and we wont have to pay for a private dinner. on a side note, we are hosting a private welcome dinner to say hi to everyone and hand out the OOT bags. Cecilia is charging us 12pp for this so i would assume it would be the same for a rehearsal dinner, if you decide on a private one.
Thanks for the info! Where are you having the private welcome dinner?

I am planning a wedding for October 15th, 2010 at the Dreams Resort & Spa Cancun! I am doing the complimentary wedding and am still searching different package prices for flight and hotel. I live in Oklahoma and my reception will be held at home when we return! I still have a few questions about the complimentary wedding they provide and am also trying to find a travel agent etc. that offer group discounts. I will be having approximately 20 people attending. Any information or advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time!

she said we could pick one of the restuarants when we get there...i think one of the closed ones?? or she would also do a beach set up. i think we might do the beach one since the ceremony and the reception wont be on the beach. i'll ask her about it and report back wink.gif

congrats!! the complimentary package is very basic; it includes a champagne toast and cake and the "use" of the gazebo. no decorations are included in this. I have a list of of extras somewhere so if you give me your email i can send them to you...i think the prices are on there.

Thank you so much! My e-mail address is coxmelissa55@yahoo.com. Any info would be greatly appreciated! We now have to keep it VERY basic because we had some things already planned and a lot of people already got their passports and i lost my job. I also sent them an email asking if we brought some tulle and some fake flowers we could decorate a little ourselves but I didnt know if that was a no no. Thanks for taking the time to respond to my message! :)

I just reserved my wedding date today for Friday October 15th and spoke to the coordinator and she said that the complimentary wedding in paradise includes more than i thought! It includes justice of peace/minister,wedding coordinator, white chair covers, use of the gazebo that i AM allowed to bring my own decorations to decorate it myself to save money, ironing of tux and dress, champagne, cake, bride bouquet, groom bout, 15% off spa services, turn down service, room for the groom for night before the wedding and basic honeymoon package! Some of you may take into consideration that if you bring some fake flowers, tulle etc. it could save you some money too! I was shocked that they let you use your own decorations!

So today I reserved our wedding date by phone with the coordinator for October 15, 2010! I was very happy to find that the complimentary wedding in paradise included a lot more than i originally thought. They include justice of peace, wedding coordinator, use of gazebo, I am able to bring my own decorations for the gazebo to save some money which you all may also take into consideration. I am going to bring some tulle, fake flowers etc. so the gazebo wont be so plain and it will still be free for me! it also includes the brides bouquet, grooms bout, cake, wine, preparation of the dress and tux., turn down service, room for the groom the night before, 15% off spa services and honeymoon package! just FYI in case anyone was interested

So, did a search and I'm seeing alot of people give their take on outside vendors, but from 2008 and earlier. I was wondering if anyone can help me with more recent news. I want to use an outside photographer, but I've seen people say no. However, what if he is one of my guests? Can they stop my guest from taking photos? He did my friends wedding here in the states, and he does amazing work, and this is the only thing I want absolute control on. I would be paying to fly him in, and I would pay for his room for the night, and he would be one of my 20 guests. I was going to have him shoot my bridal pics in my hotel room (while I touch up my hair and makeup and get into my gown), and then have him come down with me. Couldn't I just say that he's my cousin or something? I would ask my WC, but I contacted them a while ago (the form says they will get back within 2 buisness days... HA!) and still no reply... grrrr, so techinically I don't have a WC.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
