Paige- thanks! They are separate vases, and see below- when you put them together, they form a wavy line. They look so much better in person! Got them from Ikea (I heart Ikea!) They were only 1.99 each, and the votives were only .49 each. You can also turn the votives upside down and they hold candlesticks. Not sure if I want to utilize that or not.... I'm taking the candles down myself...Post pics of your invites!

Shellk- 3 hours of ironing!? You are a trooper girl! But best to be prepared for sure. The countdown is on!!

Welcome fsuambs!! It's always so exciting to have a new bride!! I am working with Wendy Hicks, from Wright travel. She is a BDW travel agent. Her info is on our website- ryanandjannae.com under 'Travel Info' She is AWESOME!!! I cannot say enough nice things about her. Good luck!

Fsauambs-Welcome! So excited for you. If I were you I'd drop destinationwedding.com. There is a thread on here about them and the majority say they aren't good. I've heard great things about the travel agents on here. I would have used them too except my 83 year old grandmother still works as a travel agent so I have to use her!

I don't think Jan or Feb are going to be much different in price, they are both high season. We went in Jan 2009 and it cost about $300 more then what we are paying for our wedding in November.

Welcome fsuambs, hope you find a travel agent! Can't offer too much help because my aunt does some travel agent type work on the side, so she is doing it for us! :)

Well dress shopping went well, two too well! I love two of them but they are from different stores so can't try them on side by side (my little sister is my size so put on one while i was wearing another which helped me narrow down my two favorites from the first store down to the one). So now I am stuck between the two which I both love with similar prices. I will go back to both stores sometime soon and try them on and see which one feels more me!

On a side note, I just got exciting news that I got the internship I wanted in Vegas for this summer! Super excited, but a little anxious about finances since when I applied for this internship it was at the beginning of summer 09 when I wasn't planning a wedding. Oh well, my FI is super supportive and says we will make it work!

Heck yeah you can make it work- a summer in Vegas sounds fantastic! Don't put your life on hold to plan a wedding, bc the wedding will be fabulous any way you do it.
I have dress indecision. I ordered a second "knockoff" dress, this one from Landy bridal. It's in the mail and should get here soon. I really hope I like it bc the first one I ordered (from another company) didn't excite me the way I had hoped. For all the $ I spent on 2 knockoffs I should have just bought the original I had my eye on in the first place!

Well, my RSVP date has passed (last Friday) and we got less than a 50% response rate. Lovely. The nonresponders are officially UNinvited! hehe

Thanks Jen,

I found a TA on here that has already responded, so hopefully when we talk it will be a "good match."

Dress shopping was fun but a little overwhelming. I actually found my dress before I picked a resort, but I'm ok with that! Keep us updated on "the dress."

Congrats on the internship! What kind of internship?

Kimmyg, you're right the summer in Vegas will definitely be worth it. And on top of it , my best friend in the program just called me to let me know she got a spot in Vegas too :):)! Thats a bummer about the RSVP's, so can I ask how you chose a RSVP date?? I just ordered my save the dates and was wondering what is the proper etiquette for sending out the formals and request RSVPs by..

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
