Hi ladies. I posted a review of the hotel on trip advisor if you want to know about the resort. I forgot to say that we really liked that you can eat wherever you want , when you want. No reservations or limit. Also you can get a beach towel without a card...so simple. Everything there is simple actually. The whole family, kids, couples, friends and grandma really appreciated this hotel for so many reasons, the staff the service, the food, the location it was perfect for everyone.

We stayed in room 750 which was a normal room but with a breathtaking view of the ocean. The 7th floor is priviledge club and it is very nice. The upgrades are expensive but we were happy with what we had. However , if we go back , maybe we would choose the marina view because the ocean view was a little noisy sometimes. Also the negative thing about the private lounge on that floor is that if you have disrespecful people on the floor it is noisy for the rooms around. We thought that people would understand that the lounge is for people to relax and enjoy BUT there are people around sleeping. I guess some people just have to shout and yell when they talk! enough about that, the room and the service were excellent.

The wedding: My fiance had an accident two days before the wedding but everything else was perfect. We choose to go two weeks , we left on a saturday and the family joined us the wednesday. We were very happy about that because we had a few days before to settle and a few days together after to relax for our honeymoon.

Let me just say that you dont have to worry about ANYTHING BEFORE. I was obsessed by details before and I regret it because you dont really need anything else then what they have. It is just simple and amazing already with the ocean and the setting. It is so intense and it goes by so fast that I am happy I did not bring anything or buy any extras because i felt after that it was perfect that way. Again, choose everything when you get there and trust them for making this day perfect!

We had the ceremony in the gazebo and it was very nice. It was very very windy that day but it made the day special and it also made very nice pictures! After we had champagne at the barracuda and took pictures. The minister was sweet but we felt rushed after the ceremony to sign the papers because he had another wedding!

We choose to have the reception in the room above the el patio because it was so windy and I was very happy about that. It was more intimate then the beach and comfortable too. We had the cake and hung out outside after. Theres a small patio there. I made a mix of our wedding songs and had our pictures, names and the date of the wedding on the cd for the guests(I used light scribe). Everyone was happy and they all listen to it now!

I also bought extra flowers for my hair and the flower girl and a bag of petals but they were gone with the wind in a few seconds!

For the music, I made a list for the ceremony,(two songs: one for walking down the aisle and one for the toast), a list for the supper and one for the reception. We had speakers for the ceremony but after I had my own and it worked out fine.

For food, we had an entree, soup and the steak and it was good. I am sure that every menu is good. The food is amazing at the resort!

Before we left we had a last supper at the el patio and we were treated like royalty, really, the wedding was our best day ever but that evening was our best one too. We felt so special, those people are so nice and they all knew us because of the accident and the wedding!

I dont know what else to say but you all made a good choice for a wedding location. Dont worry, all weddings there have to be perfect! I have pictures on photobucket and facebook. I will put more soon, I just have a few for now. You can e mail me any personnal question at [email protected], add me as a friend on facebook to see all the pictures as soon as I post them or talk to me here, i will be back once in a while because this site helped me plan too!

Dont worry girls, your wedding at DPA will be amazing!

I added you Mylene and peeked at your pictures. It looks lovely and you looked gorgeous. Did you use the resort photog, and did you have to write your own vows? My friend got married at the Grand Palladium and she said she did there? Can I ask which package you had also. Thanks so much for sharing. Im super excited and glad I decided on no rose petals for my daughter.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
