She said that customs is very particular about what is allowed through and what isn't. She said you should definitely not send any sort of sea shells because you will never see them again. She said that if they don't approve of something they will send it back to you and who knows how long that will take.

She said that if you fill out the correct paperwork for customs and detail how much everything in the box is worth then you shouldn't have any problems. I have lik 40lbs in towels here that I just can not bring in a suitcase, so I have no choice. I also want to ship my centerpieces since they are glass and fragile. I'm going to do it anyway and hope for the best. They did say to send everything a month early as long as you contact the wedding coordinator and they know it is coming.

Thank you for this information. I am also planning on shipping stuff for my OOT bags and decorations. As bad as it may be to ship stuff, it still has to be better than trying to get through customs in person with bags and bags of stuff. I'm hoping anyway!

I see you are getting married the day before me. Where are you having your wedding/reception? I am planning on the gazebo for the wedding and the beach for the reception...but a little undecided on both.

that is good to know! i was planning to get a seashell cake topper but i guess that is out of question!

you have not booked your locations yet? The WC told me that i could not change my ceremony because other locations were booked. i see that your wedding is a week before mine. how is that possible?

I have my wedding location booked, but the reception says TBD on my checklist. I asked her last week and she said we could change our wedding location if we changed our mind. Now I'm a little concerned. I have an email in to my WC (Suzanna) right now to find out for sure. I am pretty sure we will stick with the gazebo but I really hope the beach reception is still available!

Hey All!

I am back from our spectacular wedding! It was perfect! We had a few issues, but it really is not worth sweating the small stuff, and overall everyone had a fabulous time. This thread really helped me out in the beginning of my planning stages, so thanks for that. Below is my review, I will post more pictures when I get them, just a few so far. Let me know if you have any questions too. Thanks!

Congrats and welcome back! I have a silly question that may already have been covered. I'm trying to decide between stadium cups and beer mugs for our OOT bags. Was the beer served in cans or into plastic cups?

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

      Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
