That is what i did as well.... I will also be trying the wax and then putting the top on it as well. I really hope those two steps work.

I ordered a vase with a cork closure, I plan on filling that baby to the brim and packing it in my carry on luggage and hope for the best. I may try the melted candle wax...sounds like a good idea, but the sand will still have to be packed very tightly for that to work. I am keeping my fingers crossed for safe sand travels for us all :)

Hey ladies. I bought one that came with a cork (you can see in my planning thread - link below). I filled it to the top to avoid movement. Unfortunately my WC decided to dump some of the sand out and ruined the pattern lol! I didn't want it any more destroyed than it already was so I carried it on the plane. I literally had it in my lap. Worked fine!

we are doing the sand ceremony frame and i'm planning on carrying it on the plane; we're also staying at a different resort for the HM week so I hope it holds up well and the cleaning people don't drop it or something!

Oh what a great thread, I am set on doing a sand ceremony and was actually just getting some sites together for ideas where to get the kit and where to get the sand - any suggestions greatly appreciated

On of the ladies on here I 'snooped' thru her pictures (this site is fantastic) and they place the sand from the location of the ceremony first, just a little on the bottom, and then their two colours, I thought that was great cause then you also always have the sand from your location with you... just a thought

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
