Does anybody knows if there's a gazebo? Is there special spot on the beach for weddings? Do they have nice decoration for the ceremony?? I would love to see pics!!!!

Can wait to hear about a wedding that took place at Iberostar Laguna Azul :)

I don't know too much about the decoration, except a few pictures that have been posted online. There is supposed to be a beach gazebo, but it hasn't been built yet. Hopefully it will be soon, but we have to remember that the hotel only opened last September.

ThanKS :)
The price for May 2011 is around 1400$ per person. The price in April will probably be more expensive because A. the low season starts in May, and B. Easter is in April and that usually jacks up the price.

Thank you so much!! I'm going to go see the pics on facebook. If it's not that good looking I hope for you that it'll get better by the time you get married...at lease they still have a few months to up grade it!! :)

we got very lucly with this one...pics are important to me so this was an area I allowed myself to splurge on. We found someone online that has been doing weddings locally for 8 years, but has never done a DW so she said we just pay for her trip and we can have her for three days in Cuba, and will make a slideshow and provide all the pics on a disk.
We got a free guests every 21rst person (just pay the taxes) so we're using those for her and her asst.

As of now, unless we somehow win the lottery, we will use the resort photograph as well as rely on our friends and family with very good cameras and a passion for photography.
Thanks for the response. we will have to figure something out. I was planning to use the free person for a family member.
But friends and family can take pictures too. do you know if the resort photographer is any good?

As for booking the wedding date, I think they start taking reservations for 2011 in February.

JNL, we are booking May 1st to May 8th as well, gonna go put down the deposit this week. Our preferred date would be May 5th. If ever we get married on the same day, do you have any preference for time of the day?
Hey RonNmel,

Just noticed that you asked me a question, sorry about that. I was actually leaning more towards the May 4th 2011.
And i spoke with Yahimara and i think she might have misunderstood me. If she told you they are not taking reservations til February, I think i need to email her again and makes sure she knows i was taking about 2011.
She confirmed a date, but now I'm thinking she talking about 2010 because a when i said i wanted 2 or 4 o'clock she said only 2 was available on the 4th.

i'll have to check into that.

Good luck with the planning. :)

I still have no idea what I am doing for a photographer, either. I have contacted several and checked out so many of the adds on here and on facebook and for the most part, you have to pay their travel expenses PLUS an additional price for the photography package. Since my FI and I are already paying for our whole wedding and we are staying an extra week, this is definitely not in the cards. A relative was supposed to do the photography for us but she is unable to take time off of work so we are back at square one. ugh! Has anyone heard anything about the resort photographer? Or the cost of using the resort photographer?? The kind of packages they offerhuh.gif?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
