Hi Massagegirl...

I'm getting married here April 30th, 2010. I've made a site visit and met with Cecilia already back in September. The resort is beautiful. You won't be disappointed. July will be very hot though. We decided to have our ceremony at the poolside gazebo versus on the beach. Let me know if you have any questions for me :)

I am getting married here on July 9, 2010. It has really good reviews on tripadvisor.com. I like it because it is adults only. I have heard good things but never been to this resort. I went to Sandos Beach Resort in Playa del Carmen last August - which was also really nice (not adults only though). It will be hot - Mexico in the summer - but bearable I think. My FH and I are both teachers so the summer is the most logical time to get married since we both have off. (We were going to do November but then we would have to take at least a week off in the middle fo the year - not worth it)

I have read some good reviews on here - search the forums. (That is how I found this thread actually - I wanted to see what else people had posted about SMB)

Good luck!

I am getting married at Secrets Maroma June 10, 2010. We are doing our site visit Feb 3rd-5th. We are really unsure about where to do the reception because of the heat and humidity during the summer. Any suggestions would be helpful. We currently have 33 people booked. We want someplace that feels intimate so everyone feels comfortable and dances all night long! ALL suggestions are much appreciated!

We are having our reception at the poolside gazebo area. I'm thinking that around dinner time, most people have vacated the pool area to get ready for dinner at the restaurants, so I'm thinking that would be pretty private and still be outdoors. We also won't have to move all of the music equipment set-up from our ceremony, since we are having that at the poolside gazebo also.

Hi! I am also getting married there this summer and can not decide where to have the reception at. What did you think?

We decided to use the spa courtyard because it is more private and a good size for the number of people we are having. We are having 33 so far. Also, you get to walk in over a bridge that is over the spa fountain area. Very cute and we are also getting the DJ with the light and sound system and I think it will look really awesome against the stone walls back there.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
