Ladies,

Are you planning to host any other events (on-site) besides the wedding reception. Like a group dinner or cocktails at the bar? Curious to know what others are doing leading up to the wedding. I was thinking of a group dinner in a buffet resturant and/or meeting up at the Infinity Bar for drinks.

I am thinking of Welcome meet and greet on my guests arrival date (thursday) at the infinity bar and then a rehearsal type dinner at the beach BBQ the friday before our saturday wedding for the immediate family and wedding party. On sunday I was thinking of maybe some beach volleyball game or scavenger hunt.

Hi!

They finally wrote back. They didn't have my ceremony time, location and reception location reserved! I had selected all these things months ago. It's all arranged now though, thankfully. The new wedding coordinator seems really nice. I have the Blue Lagoon reserved for 6pm.

I was considering the Steel drum band. What about you? What are you doing for music?

Thanks!

Julie

I chose
Appetizer:
CRAB AND CHEESE BREAD
Soup:
ARTICHOKES AND TOMATO TANDEM SOUP Served with bread croutons
Entrees:
GRILLED GARLIC SHRIMPS SERVED WITH SEASONAL VEGETABLES AND RICE
or
CHICKEN BREAST GRILLED SERVED WITH POTATOES, VEGETABLES AND WHITE WINE GRAVY

Phylicia said she needs to know who wants what, which I hate to do, I'm going to ask her if there's any way to let my guests choose when they get there.

I'm going to have a dinner the night before - right now I'm at 20 people -I think we can manage at one of the buffet restaurants and just pull tables together. Most people are coming Thursday, a few on Friday.

Wow - I'm glad you got that straightened out! I'm just using an IPOD for music - I'd love to do the Steel Drum band but it seems like a lot of $ for a short time.

Hi Jenn,

All my correspondance has been via e-mail. I prefer that because at least I have a paper trail. I have asked to confirm all my reservations and they did. They have not discussed menus with me yet...
She sent me a list of things to confirm including music and flowers.

I suggest you let them know how frustrated you are and ask for everything in writting. They have been very responsive since I did that. I can e-mail you my correspondance with them if it helps.

Let me know how it goes.
Julie

The beach BBQ dinner sounds nice, do they offer this every Friday? Is seating right outside on the beach? Do you know if they can reserve seating for guests at the BBQ?

The scavenger hunt would be great on a resort the size of the Grand Palladium! The challange will be for you to remember where you hid everything!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
