melbeern, me and FI choose to get the Honeymoon Suite because we wanted a bigger room for all our stuff and for getting ready, and we want to feel like were on our honeymoon after lol.... but we did not opt to get ther preffered club room because we didn't feel it was worth the money, some of the past brides who had preffered said it was cool to have but not neccessary, you do get upgraded toiletries and access to the preffered lounge, hot & cold hordorves, and free internet but thats pretty much it, we plan on hanging with our family and friends so the private area or upgraded toiletries wasn't that important to us.

Erin,
I am thinking of the huppah, but I have heard it's really windy on the beach, so now I'm not sure what to do... guess I'll wait and see.

Am freaking though that my TA told me yesterday that my dress counts as my carryon!! WTF! How can that be... there's no info about that at all on our tour company's website.... now I have to call them myself to confirm ...

still need to make our music happen too... still don't know what I'm walking down the aisle to, first dance etc
go to MAC for my make-up consult
start packing
buy new suitcases that are lighter than my older one
try to work out over stress eating/drinking

Jocy,
Are you bringing tulle or anything to decorate the huppah? or are you just going to pay for decorations there?

Thanks!!

The hotel is supposed to upgrade you a room category from what you originally purchase so if I were you, I would get either a basic or junior and hope to get upgraded .. anyone else heard that?

Hey Tam, I didn't hear that, but we are doing the honeymoon suite for sure. We heard that the preferred club suite is newer or something, but we weren't going to pay for it ourselves. So when B's Dad offerd to pay for upgraded plane and hotel for us, we accepted. And you are with Sunwing, right? You are making me manic a little! Maybe I will get B to carry the "carryon" and I will have my dress, if thats really the rule! I don't think thats fair... let me know what they say!

Good choice on M.A.C too! I'm getting my consult done, then going through my company to get the products since we get them 40% off.. yay! And I didn't think of the luggage thing... I have to do that too!

Jocy Erin is right, thats what I want too (regular huppah, just the white linens or tulle or whatever they use haha).

Just curious....

I've been waiting FORREEEVER for Dreams to charge the wedding deposit and she hasn't done so yet. When I gave her all the information, I asked her when it would be charged, and she said in about a week. I think its been about 2 months hahaha!

When, if ever, did they charge you ladies the deposit??

Hi Jocy and Tam!!

Just wanted to say the I am so excited....we will all be in P.C so soon. I don't know yet if I am nervous of all the stuff still to be done or the wedding :) Maybe one day when we are there we can meet up and grab a drink and relax. Have you gotten your apointement with the WC yet?

Tam I called Sunwing and the woman on the phone told me that the wedding gown is a "courtesy item" that makes me think that it isn't part of your carry on. Also she did tell me it ges in the over head, which I don't really like so I hope that there is a closet. Although I will be part of the mother and small child first to go on plane call so I may just grab the overhead and fill it with all my stuff so no one puts their bag on my garment bag.

Will any ladies be having their dress steamed or pressed the day before??

i look forward to hopefully meeting :)

Katie

Thanks for your replies. We will probably get the regular Junior Suite and upgrade if needed.

We want to get the basic Dream Wedding in Paradise package ($799) for free and will definitely have more than 5 rooms to get the package. Do we all have to book at the same time and through the same Travel Agent? The reason I ask is because some of our guests are purchasing online, some with their own TA, etc. Is there a way to link everyones rooms to our wedding so we get the package free and get to stay close to each other?

Just ask your WC for adjoining rooms:)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
