Trying so hard to get my invitations out by next week...we sent our STD early last year so now it's just the invitations. I am wondering how many unexpected people we will have that RSVP they are coming. Next on my to do...dress shopping, ugh!

UGH I am so frustrated - we are travelling through Signature vacations and they are just trying to get all of their flights organized for their summer brochure, but they keep telling me it'll be out "next month", "next month". So they told me before Christmas they'd have it in January, so I just got my travel agent to check with them on the flight schedule and they said, "next month possibly"..... really!?!?! Our guests are waiting to find out when they should book their time off from work. They know we'll be going sometime within the week of May 14th, most likely Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday, but we're not sure yet. So they keep asking us when we're leaving. And our invitations are waiting on the flight schedule so we can put that info in there, and our photographer is asking if we can do our TTD session on the 16th instead of the day after our wedding the 15th, which I can't answer because I don't know what day we will be flying home.... I just needed to vent because it feels like I can't move forward until I get this information!

Hi Everyone!

My wedding is May 29, 2010! It will be here before you know it. I am actually going to Cabo next Thursday for a site walk-through and to get some details all figured out.

We picked our location. Cabo del Sol. We just need to do menu, cake, flowers, details etc.

So much to do!

Chrissy- Good luck dress shopping! How come you say "ugh?"

Cara- Vent away! I thought that the flights out of Calgary ran Sat-Sat? Same with Transat?

Finleys- Our packages from Canada are flight included, and the charters generally run the same days. Not as many options to fly mid-week unless you have a million stop overs through the US

Erica- Welcome May bride! Let us know how your site visit goes. Pretty cool that you are able to do that!

Cara - I'm going the same week as you and we're booked through Air Canada Vacations. Our flights were confirmed MONTHS ago...like back in September! But I guess that's the bonus of booking through an actual airline. We fly from Calgary Sunday to Sunday. Hopefully you get yours confirmed soon! I can't imagine how frustrating that would be!

I have a question for those getting married in Riviera Maya, Mexico. What time are you having your ceremony at? I think I read that the sun sets at 7:15.

Also, does anyone know if the sand is too hot in May to walk down barefoot? We are thinking of having our ceremony on the sand and I don't want to deal with what kind of shoes to wear. I am hoping to go barefoot for the ceremony and then buy shoes for the reception. Anyone else doing this?

Hey SD,
My wedding is in Riviera Maya at Excellence, I'm getting married at 5pm to hopefully catch some great sunset photos... this time was suggested by the resort coordinator for the pix...I'm doing the gazebo though cant help w the sand.

That's so weird because my wedding coordinator at Dreams Riviera Cancun told me to schedule it for 6pm. I had originally thought 5:30 but figured the coordinator should know. I wonder why there is such a discrepancy in their opinions. I was originally a little worried about that time, but someone posted information from a photographer and it says to allow 55 - 65 mins prior to sunset. I don't know what to do! My photographer thinks 5:30, but she is from the states so I would rather go with what the locals think.

ChristinaP I was just hoping to lose a little more before the dress shopping. Although I did find a nice dress this weekend, flattered my figure really well, so I got it! Now my goal is to see how much they need to take it in, ha! It also has a corsett back (not what I wanted but looks great) so it will help if I lose more weight.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
