Also, I am doing the free wedding package, so will my deposit just be the 300 for the civil fees?

thank yall so much. im so glad i found this site
Just a heads up- If you want to have good and frequent contact with your coordinator this is not the place to book. I am getting married in 53 days and have more frustration than good experiences until now. I've been to the Moon for a wedding and thats why I choose it. To be honest I am starting to regret my decision for the price we are paying.

Since your friend got married at Moon Palace, have you tried to talk with her to see how her experience was. Also did she work with another coordinator? I know you might have already tried this but have you contact the main office to voice your concern? Maybe they can assign you to another onsite coordinator that is more attentive since they should have more than one. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you!

Hi ladies...I need some advice...so wedding starts at 2:00 pm. I wish is was later, but it is what it is, I guess. I'm not having a cocktail hour (don't want to pay for 1 hour of drinking at an ALL-INCLUSIVE resort), we are having a private function (I've somehow convinced myself that cocktail hour is not ok, but paying for a dinner at an all-inclusive resort is acceptable??), and I'm thinking that we will go to one of the clubs/bars to continue the celebration. So...any advice on the timeline? I only see 2 options...

2:00- wedding

2:45- champagne toast

3:00- pics

3 hour gap doing who knows what

6:00-private function (dinner, cake, some dancing if I can convince FI to pay extra for music!)

8:00- move party to bar (after we take a brief detour to our room so I can change out of my dress)

_OR_

2:00- Wedding

2:45- champagne toast

3:00- pics

3:30 or 4:00 private function

few hour break

8 or 9:00 meet at bar

neither sound that great to me because I feel bad for the guests to have a big break. I read a review on some website one time (i think Tripadvisor) where a guest at the hotel said that he saw a wedding taking place and then after the wedding was over the guests just kind of wondered around with nothing to do afterwards and he said it looked unorganized and awkward. I just don't want that to happen! Anyone else with an afternoon wedding? Any suggestions?

Brooke, sorry to hear you're having a rough time with the coordinators. Do you still have Angelica? She's helping me, but usually takes 1 week to respond. I try to think long and hard before I press send on an email to make sure I've included all questions. And can you believe that we only have 52/53 days to go?!? I'm just so flippin' excited!!

What do you plan to do with your free bouquet since you are bringing one down with you? Can we exchange it for something else?

I've thought about this too as i thought my wedding was going to be at 1:00. I would go for option 1, and definitely do the private function at night. You could stretch out the picture taking as long as you can, then everyone could go to the beach bar and have cocktails til private function....?? Sorry I dont have any better ideas

Hi everyone. I am getting married on April 23, 2010 and was wondering if anyone else was getting the run around regarding your "group contract". Initially I was under the impression that the contract was with the resort considering that their web site states that the free cocktail hour, reception, etc. was only valid with a group contract. Well I was wrong. My travel agent is now telling me that the only rooms that count towards my group contract are one's that booked with my travel agent Liberty Travel at their specific office. Not other locations in other cities? For example, a friend of mine didn't think anything and I was never told so she went to a Liberty Travel near her house and booked. My TA is telling me those 2 rooms do not count towards my 20 room contract. It's BS. Than to make matters worse I figured ok well I will go right to the source, I emailed my WC and asked her about it, if they would honor any rooms booked towards my contract considering a room is a room, and money is money and her response was that I have to talk to my TA, she handles my travel accomodations... Like as if MP has nothing to do with the group contracts?? Help!!!

Hi Avery,

First off, we're date buddies! What time are is your ceremony?

Who's your WC? My FI's parents are Palace members, so we did all our booking through them. We were planning on only having family and everyone booked that way, but a few friends have decided to come and I found an online place to book them through. Once I mentioned this to my WC, she told me she'd honor it as a group booking regardless if we actually did the group booking or not.

Be firm about it with your WC and I think they'll honour the rooms.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
