Bride2b10,

Which building did you stay in during your stay in DEC? I have some elderly, I was wondering if I requested to close to the pool would their room be to loud?? When again I don't want them to have to walk as far. Any ideas?

Did you find out about this yet? I was wondering the same thing. I would rather bring travelers chqs vs a creditcard or cash. If the travelers chqs get stollen or something then you can cancel them. I guess I will just email Xhail (WC) to find out.
Your wedding is so soon!!!!!

Cheers!

Hi T&K,

We stayed in the Oaxaca building and we were right in front of the pool. We didn't find it noisy at all but again, we weren't in the room much. It's also the building closer to the Palace restaurants/buffet and the lobby. We have the same concern with elderly not having to walk too much but it depends where they are walking to :) I'm not sure how accommodating they are in terms of room request but I don't think noise should be a problem, especially if they are not Premium Club right in front of the pool.

Can't wait to hear about your actual wedding!! I have a really odd question if you could find out for me...How big are the tables and do the tablecloths go all the way down to the floor? I ask because we are thinking of doing those lights under the tables and that obviously won't work if the tablecloths aren't long enough.

Thanks so much and let me know if you have any more questions about our visit. Otherwise have a great time!!!! :)

What is the trend herehuh.gif? Are most people picking a beacn reception or at one of the grills? If a grill, which one?

Who is your photographer? If so, who and how much?

Are you using the hotel DJ or getting on from outside the property?

If so who? How much?

Thanks girls:)

Hi Barcelo Brides. I am getting married at the end of this month and still don't quite know how the reception will look. We have decided on the Strawberry Passion Package...with dinner and dancing on the beach. I am worried about it being too dark. Those of you had your reception on the beach...what did you think? Was it dark? What kind of lighting did you have?

I want to bring my own hanging candle lanterns, but haven't heard back from the coordinators if it is ok. Does anyone here know if they would permit that? Also, are there trees to hang lanterns from?

I know that they sell torchieres and other lighting decorations, but I worry that they will cost a fortune.

I assume the sun goes down just after 5. My reception will begin at 6pm. I wonder if I should start it earlier in order to catch the sunset? Any suggestions would be fantastic. Thanks so much for reading.

Hello Brides! After looking at so many hotels in Mexico we have decieded Barcelo Maya Palace is the one we wish to book for our wedding. Coming from the UK flight prices arn't out yet (for May 2011) so we have to wait a month or so to book! Are any other brides coming from the UK? We love the look of the gazebo, does anyone know how private it is? Is it near a pool etc? Obviously we are at the start of our planning but soooo excited! Also we'd prefer our reception meal in one of the al a cartes.... is this possible? Many thanks for reading....Michelle x

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
