I love the centerpeice pictures - thank you so much for posting that link!
Lilly129 I am not able to see the welcome newsletter that is posted on here. Are you able to e-mail it to me at all? [email protected]. It sounds like a really neat idea!

Do you happen to have a pricing list from Claudia Rodriguez?
I love the chocolate idea for the oot bags...I have been to that store in Playa del Carmen-great chocolate!! The one thing to think about though is that it is VERY hot in Mexico, even in the evening. If your reception is outside, the chocolate wouldn't last long at all.
You got the price list, right? I do have it also. Claudia is really nice. She is not super quick to respond to your emails but she answers all of your questions. She has been very easy to deal with so far.

So, is it that hot in February in Mexico?? My cocktail hour starts at 6, reception at 7. I was reading that the average temps are 80's during the day and high 60's - low 70's at night. I wonder if they were left inside until the start of the reception if they would be okay? Hmmm... I'll have to look into the Mexican wedding cookies too. That also sounds like a good idea.

Hi there,

We are thinking about booking the DRC and wanted to know if anyone out there got any perks for booking 20+ rooms? We are planning on 40-60 people during a slow off peak week Oct 26-Oct 31. Hopefully having the wedding on the 29th.

We were hoping with that many people we could get our room for free. The dreams website talks about a buy 5 rooms get the 6th free, and a different promo with 15 rooms and 1 free.

Also we wanted a package with ceremony (non-official), cocktail hour, dinner/reception.

We plan to just use an ipod for music.

Thanks!

I'm new to the board and have booked our ceremony at DRC.
We haven't decided yet on a Ceremony site, or Reception site yet on the resort. Any pointers on where to pick? I'm not too worried about the privacy, and i also like how someone was saying that the gazebo could be decorated with cloth on the sides instead of the flowers? Is that right or did i misread?
I also have to ask Ana. We booked the 11am slot for September 6, 2010, but i'm not sure, do we have to have our reception dinner right after? Or can we do it more towards the evening and use the Coctail Hour as more like a welcome for our guests when they all arrive?
I also don't have enough points yet to veiw attachments, so i can't wait until i do! I'm sure there's a ton of information in there!
Thank you all for your help already and your help in the future!

Dorothy
Welcome Dorothy and congrats!

I think that you can have your reception at dinner time instead of right after your ceremony. I had read that the other Dreams allow you to use your cocktail hour as a welcome for your guests the day everyone arrives, but I never asked Ana about this so I don't know if she allows it.

As far as where to have the reception, I am having mine on the pool deck...I chose it because I think it looks beautiful in the pics and I love how it is right on the beach. I am having my ceremony on the beach...I would choose this no matter what because I have always wanted to get married right on the beach :)

Hi and Welcome! I did not get anything like that. I don't have 20 rooms booked though. I have 16 rooms (we will have about 30 people). I think that the promotions on the Dreams site do not include weddings. There was something like that going on when I booked and my TA contacted the resort about it and they said the promotions don't apply to wedding groups sad.gif I was hoping to be able to get something free too!

I was originally going to do the gazebo so I wasn't worried about the style of shoe. But now that I am considering the beach wedding, I'm not sure what to do. (almost sounds like I am a poet...ha!) I would rather go barefoot than wear some dorky shoe that I can wear in the sand. Does anyone know if the sand will be too hot in May to walk barefoot? I was going to email Ana with this question, but since she gets so many emails I figured I shouldn't bother her with these little questions. I think most of you are planning on getting married on the beach. What are you doing?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
