Finally booked! Carnival Destiny 2010

After comparing what felt like 20 different cruise options, we booked our cruise on the Carnival Destiny for Nov 11, 2010! We ended up using destinationweddings.com, which so far has been great. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone. They are very fast with replying to your emails and try to find the best deals with what you're looking for in a trip. It was a little overwhelming at first since there are so many options, but they take care of all of the difficult stuff. I feel relieved with setting up the initial deposits and room blocks for our guests, but now we have to wait for everyone to make their deposits to fully book the room. Did anyone have issues with making sure all of their guests were booked on time? I feel like we can't finish the rest of the planning until the final bookings are done. So far we really like Key West as a wedding location over Cozumel, but still in the beginning stages of that planning.

Destiny Bride here as well!

If you are still deciding on the port, here are my 2 cents.

For you it is probably easier to get married in Key West if you do the legal part there. Mexico requires blood tests and such, so in a one day port only it is almost impossible to do it all and have it be legal!

good luck in all the planning.

Yay, congrats!! I love hearing from other Destiny Brides, we're starting quite a collection! I'm worried about making sure our guests make their final deposits on time too... I'm trying to come up with some way to keep them reminded. I'm getting married June 28, 2010 and I sent out STDs in late July. The 2nd deposit is due in February and final payment in April. I'm thinking of putting together little post cards to send out a month or so before each payment date just as a reminder to our guests. Of course, I'm sure there's always going to be a few guests who won't remember no matter what I do! :-)

Hello Destiny Brides!

I got engaged on Carnival Destiny on Nov. 28th so I got sooooooooo excited when I found this thread! My fiance mentioned maybe having our wedding on the Destiny but we're not sure exactly how that works. So for now (unless we change our minds) it maybe in DR. Does anyone know how a cruise wedding work? All you thoughts & comments are greatly appreciated.

Be Well!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
