Non-breakable vaseshuh.gif Where?? And yes, I was wondering how best to bring the vases down too. I'm bringing vases for a sand ceremony with coloured sand. (still trying to figure out how to get it home without mixing) And I'm also thinking about round fish bowls down for centrepieces. I was going to fill them with sand from the beach and throw some shells in on top of the sand and put a little votive in it too.

Sunandsand, Be careful if you are planning on taking branches from home with you - you may not be able to get them through customs. When we went to the Dominican last year we were not able to take one of the souvenirs home that we bought there because it was unfinished wood. Apparently you can't bring any type of wood like that to another country because there may be bugs in it and cause plague. I know it sounds silly but we found out the hard way and were pretty upset to leave a really cool souvenir at the airport!

Also, I asked Tiara about the price of white table cloths and napkins and they are included so the only things I'm thinking of bringing are some chair sashes and possibly centerpieces.

I don't want to pay $70 per table for flowers so I'm going to take some branches and non-breakable vases and probably buy a few flowers from Tiara to add to the centerpieces.

BTW, that's not me in the photo.... just found it on another website.
hey Sunandsand, I am glad to hear the tablecloths and napkins are included. I was going to try and find that out next. I asked Tiara about the music and dancing and she said if you book the entire restaurant at the 1000.00 price. Basically we can do what we want.
I saw a bose ipod dock system at costco the other day for 279.00. I thought that was a good price but I am going to look around. I am also going to bring the chair shashes.

What chairs is everyone getting? The Tiffany chairs or the white wood chairs? If it is only for the 20 minute service I would think the white wood chairs would be fine but I am not sure if they will look nice with the sashes.

I'm getting wooden chairs.

Here's an idea I saw on google

I kind a like this following idea, except instead of just a knot, adding a bow. You would use less material than if you wrapped the material around the whole chair.

I'm just going to use tulle and I'm going to look into buying a roll of tulle and cut it myself. It will be cheaper that way. Save-on-crafts.com has them (for the US residents on this blog). Since I'm in Canada, I'm going to check Fabricland and some of the discount material stores on Queen St. W. in Toronto (5 minute walk from work).

Hey Jennifer
Were you carrying the wood out where they could see it or was it in your suitcase when they stopped you? We have a big hockey bag that we carry golf stuff in when we're travelling but this time it might be a branch holder instead.

Vases - I'm going to ask Tiara if she'll let us have 1 empty vase on each table. Might be even better than bringing our own vases. Also, I'm going to start looking at non-breakable vase options after the holidays (XMas gifts are still not finished)

I love these. I was going to buy the sashes but maybe buying a couple of rolls of tulle would be better, cut them the lengths you want, you can be more creative that way. I would be lost without this forum. Soo helpful. Thanks.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
