Gran Bahia Principe Akumal/Tulum/Coba - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

They provide the white chair covering apparently. We're not planning anything special for decorations at this point. We may bring fabric in our colour to put around the chairs just for a contrasting colour against the white. We're going there for NYE for a site visit/vacation so we'll know alot more after we get there and see what they do to decorate on their own. From what I understand from reading alot of the reviews, they'll put up anything that you ask them to pretty much.

The chairs and the white on the wood is included. I brought down blue fabric to have hung by the structure and they had no problem AT ALL doing it for me, so I think pom pons would be fine. However, you might want to think about weighing them down? Perhaps you could use something like fish wire weightshuh.gif Small and not noticable, but will keep them from blowing in the wind?

And for the record, I think that would look beautiful!

Erica, the pom poms sound great. I don't know if you saw or not, but Martha Stewarts website has some there. We made a bunch and have been toying with making the napkin ring size ones for the place settings at the dinner. Going to talk to the WC about it more in Jan when she is back.

I'm starting to wonder about the marriage certificate as well....although Karla (our planner) said it will take up to 3 months to receive in the mail...it's almost been 3 months for us and I haven't seen anything yet. Did you other married ladies recieve it in the time period they told you??

Also as far as the resort photographer (we had Jose, he may be the same for the whole resort, im not too sure). He was awesome, we originally thought that we would get the package for $540 too, but he told us there is no way we'll be able to pick only 36 photos. And he was right!! He took 191 pictures and we ended up wanting them all...we paid $1200usd for a cd with all of the photos, a slide show cd (with our wedding music added to it) and 20 printed pictures. I wouldn't have changed anything about the photographer or the amount we payed for the pics...we still get compliments non stop on how gorgeous they turned out...I couldnt have been happier! Yay!

I was told the same time frame. I haven't received anything yet but I haven't been married for 3 months yet.

I think I read that someone asked to bring hers home with her so that she could have it done here. In heinsight I wish I had done the same. Turns out she didn't even need to have it translated or appostiled. I guess the DMV is getting used to seeing spanish marriage certificates.

Do you have any pictures posted somewhere that I could see? I'm still undecided about using the resort photographer because I have yet to see much of their work. Thanks in advance for any help!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
