I do have one question- maybe I missed it somewhere on your thread, I'm sorry if I did! What menu option did you use? I haven't seen that menu in any of the other threads or on the Dreams website. Was it the gold or silver or??
Hey girl! It's okay - I didn't have it written in my planning thread. I used the Silver Menu- and as far as I know everything was great. The appetizers we had were amazing, definitely a hit - I'll make sure I include them in my review =)

I think I know the answer to this but I want to make sure with the ultimate package is the $750 fee included for a private party or do you have to pay this on top of the $2760 for the package?

Also I am looking for a reception location not on the beach but with a view of the beach open air concept. Suggestions? Dolphin pool seaside grillsmile41.gifsmile41.gifsmile41.gif?

The $750 is if you want to rent out a restaurant. That you would have to pay if you want to be the only people there. You can be on the beach, by a pool, or in the ballrooms for free. If you want to save money I recommend picking one of those places.

First of all, congrats to all the new brides who have joined in the past few weeks.

This is, by the way, why I still haven't written my review: there were so many things I was not happy with that I'm afraid the whole review will be just that, listing the problems. One thing I've learned: be more assertive and demanding if you want to get what you want. I was too laid back a bride, and ended up being frustrated at the wedding because things did not go smoothly the whole time.

So sorry to hear you are not very satisfied with your experience. You should definitely write a review, it will help other brides avoid whatever problems you had. Most of the brides are very happy with their experience and the reviews are almost all positive, so it's good to have some negative ones in a while to balance things out.

Has anyone simply had a cocktail hour and dinner world cafe? How did it go?
A few brides have had their reception at the World Café and have been happy with it. I think it's a wonderful idea. A great way to still have a nice fun reception but save some money.

I know that our reception comes with some "cocktails" and some dinner wine... but what about other drinks? My fiance is a former hockey player and 1/2 our guests are hockey boys, and they'll want to have a bar available. Am I going crazy? We've booked the Seaside Grill for our reception... not sure where the cocktails will be.
I know some have already answered this but just to clarify, it is an all inclusive resort and you can always take advantage of the all inclusive options. Where you have to pay more is where you want a special service, like bartenders to serve your group for cocktail hour, or taking over half the restaurant for your reception.

So yes, even if you have a cocktail hour with servers serving sparkling wine and whatever else, your guests who prefer something else can just go to the nearest bar and get their own drinks.

If you have a private event in a restaurant, you have to pay 750$ on top of your wedding package.

For a view of the beach, without being on the beach, your options would be El Patio, Seaside Grill, or one of the pools.

The 2010 guide is already on page 1 in the attachments section.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
