I guess I'm just concerned that things will fall through the cracks since Claudia seems to be extremely busy. Maybe I'm just being paranoid though. She really seems to come through in the end since no one has really had any complaints about their wedding. Mine is more than a year away still and I'm already worrying about all the little things!

Wow, I finally read through this whole thread. I am so happy there is a forum like this. Most of my questions have been answered by the brides-to-be on this forum.

At this point we are only having an appetizer/cocktail hour after our ceremony, but I have been going back and forth between wanting to have it on the beach or the terrace. I have been reading what everyone has to say about ALL of the options at the resort. Does anyone have pics of the terrace all "dressed up"? I've only received one pic and it wasn't prepped for a reception or anything. Also, is there a club/disco where we could continue our party after the cocktail hour?

Hey Ladies:

I am getting married next week at Dreams Cancun and this past month, correspondence has been excellent. Actually, Daniella has kind of taken over....email message are now being returned within 24 hours from both her and Claudia. It helps if you can simply put all questions in one email so they can just type their response under your question.

I think the closer your date comes, the quicker they are to respond. Those that are a year of more out, they probably are not responding quickly because there is still a lot of time.

Rest assure....there are bunch of very smart, savvy brides on this forum who have definitely done and continue to do their research. You probably will find the answers to many of your questions here on the forum. smile03.gif

I am happy to hear about the quick response you are receiving now.
May I ask when you finally signed your contract?
I am still trying to get questions answered, when I ask certain things, I feel many times they are half answered, so I have to ask again.

When do you leave?
Are you taking many decorations with you?
What is your final headcount?
Where are you honeymooning?

Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

We are leaving on Monday, July 23rd for Dreams Cancun. Everything that we are taking has been packed in one large suitcase and has been sitting at the front door for the past 2 weeks. I wanted to make sure that everthing had been counted and packed so I would not have to worry about leaving anything needed down in Cancun. All we have left to do is pack our personal belongings. We have exactly 30 guests joining us for our special day. We are going to honeymoon down there; we went ahead and booked the junior jacuzzi suite for all 8 days. We decided to take our table decor instead of purchasing centerpieces at Dreams; I think they are rather overpriced. Instead, I purchased coral colored candles with votives that will line the table; white fingered starfish will be scattered throughout the table. We had customized turquoise napkin holders with our names, wedding date, and Dreams Cancun printed on them in silver. The napkins also have a cool seashell in a pretty turquoise. (My color is coral and we accented this with hints of turquoise where appropriate). The long table that fits in the terrace area is not very wide, so I did not want to overdo the table with too much. Hope this helps.

Hehe! You two are ready! One big suitcase for all of that is good! I am going to Mexico City next week and taking some OOT bag stuff and palm fans with me. I will have my friend to send to Dreams in Jan before the wedding.

Your table decor sounds like it will look very nice! Didn't think about customized napkin holders. I cannot wait to see your pictures!

Hope your wedding is perfect!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
