Does anyone have feedback/experience on the spa there for hair and makeup? Not sure if I want to use them or go to PDC?
Great idea for the list of dates. I can't wait! We have 30 people booked now and I think that will be about it.

We are all booked at the Royal Club - Has anyone stayed on this side of the resort?

I have been looking around at different locations and have totally fallen in love with the "park" part of XCaret. Does anyone have pricing on doing the reception there?

Cheers!

I was told by the wedding coordinator at OGX that the gazebo was the only location to do the ceremony. I would be very surprised (and a bit upset) if others were told something different...

Xcaret Eco Park is right next to the resort and it is possible to get married there. They actually have a beautiful outdoor chapel. At some point I saw pics of a wedding that used the chapel and had the reception in the most beautiful grotto (also in the park). As far as I know the resort doesn't have anything to do with the park, so you would need to book the wedding seperately from the resort. I will try to dig up the link to the pics. It is SO beautiful.

Also, I made it clear to Marialma originally that we wanted to be married on the beach and not in the gazebo. If they have told you guys that this is not possible then I will have to confirm with her and my TA.

Hmm...

We actually looked into having our ceremony at the Eco Park; however, it was just too expensive for us.
I'm O.K. with having our ceremony in the gazebo; the location is very nice and pictures I've seen of other weddings there look beautiful. I'm not sure if we were told this was the only location because it actually IS the only location they have, or because any other potential location is being used by another wedding group that day. More power to you if you were able to swing a beach wedding there! Best of luck with your planning!

my fiance and i are preparing for a june 11 2010 wedding at the ogx. like others, our only concern is the beach. sometimes its nice to take a long walk along the beach and of coarse the ogx has a short cove to walk around. i wander if you can walk along the rocky beach and see anything prettyhuh.gif i hear the turqouis blue water of the riviera maya is amongst the most beautiful and im scared we will be objected to that by this man made beach. but anyhow our gut says to stay with it cause the resort itself seems fantastic. has anyone tried taking a walk along the rocky beach to see whats beyond the resorthuh.gif??

Marialma told me that because the beach was so small, it was not possible to get married on the beach. But I thought I had seen pictures of people that had gotten married on a grassy garden-y area. I also had wanted to get married on the beach, but I think the gazebo is soooo cute I'm happy with it as well.. Plus, you can now wear heels now that you're not in the sand. :)

Hi-

I was married there in June. You can get your dress pressed at the resort. I did not so I cant speak to the quality of the service. I had a private reception at the beach club and it was great. We loved it so much that we extended the reception an additional hour. We rented a speaker to hook up to my ipod for like $50, and one of my guests was the mc. The only problem was my heels kept getting caught in between the planks of the deck. It was very windy which kept the guests cool. My legs were a bit hot under my dress though but I think it was worth it to be so close to the ocean.

There is the address to look at my professional pics on photobucket. You can see the girl who did my hair who was great. She is from the spa at the resort and the girl who did my sisters hair who was not so fabulous as her hair was falling out in the room before the wedding. My hair was falling out after the wedding but with such high humidity and the wind I accepted it as being a downfall of the beautiful location. You can also see the reception site. Hope this helps.

The park looks amazing and the photos people have from there are gorgeous! But it does seem a bit expensive. Some people will just use the chapel there for the ceremony and photos, then go back to the resort for the reception. Here's the 2010 price lists that they sent to me:

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
