I have an afterthought question... I really want those sunset photos on the beach after our ceremony (5pm), and the sun sets around 6:30 in Jan. So our pictures are ending at 6, then getting on the bus for the boat at 6:30. We will totally miss the sunset, do you think our reception will still be a hit? We did hire DJ Mannia, so I know they party part will be great, but dinner in the dark? I'd really love your opinion.

Thanks in advance!

erinleigh, thank you so much for your review! we had some stuff change at our resort and decided to change to having our reception on la barcaza! you're right, flori is amazingly responsive and has been a huge help so far!

this may have been answered before (because i think i remember reading it somewhere) but do the "open bar" menus include more than beer and rum? i asked flori about this and she said anything like wine or vodka drinks will cost extra, but i get the impression that this isn't always the case? does anyone know? thanks!

Thanks for your review! I'm so excited I have it booked for our reception as well. The pics look awesome. I'm so happy we picked this option. For the ladies wondering if they should book in advance I would say yes. I took a bit and someone else was interested in my date. Its in April so I would if you want to make sure.

Thanks! As for the Open Bar - it is just rum and beer, but they have all kinds of mixes, so they made some very yummy drinks for us! We also added wine and champagne to our bar menu. We didnt end up drinking it all though.

We have booked LaBarcaza for our wedding reception! We get picked up at 4pm and go on the sunset dinner cruise.

We are going with the mix grill open bar option, and may decide to book an additional hour.

Flori has been great to work with thus far! Our photographer is HDC who also works with LaBarcaza so that makes it convenient as well!!

We are doing this as a surprise for our guests! We are very excited!!!!

We are doing this for the night of our wedding!  I actually ended up deciding on the Dominican just because of this.  If you read Erinleigh's review on it, it sounds absolutely amazing.  We are not sure how many people we will have so they are letting us do the deposit based on 30 people at the $60 dinner option.  I am SOOOOO excited!  We also are keeping this a secret from our guests so they will be pleasantly surprised!

Hey ladies,

Thanks for all of the reviews...and WOW I totally want to do this as well. I'm SOLD!! I only have one question though, what happens if it starts to rain? Or what if it's raining all day on your wedding day? Do they accept cancellations? Or would my guests just be stuck on the lower deck the entire night?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
