ARGHHHHH, the Royal screws with our heads and their pricing yet again! If my guests hadn't already put deposits down I might actually consider what JESMCAN is doing and look at changing resorts. But as I'm staying there, as everyone says, keep I will everything in writing and bring it down with me. It's just frustrating that we have to do this at all, the luxury package that I put a deposit down for cost $2400 US (at the time) and is now like $3200, things like this concern me as they could try and screw me over making me pay more. Now I'm all worked up! On another note about dresses, I ordered mine way back in June and I'm concerned that I'm not going to love it anymore, so don't pick your dress too early!
I am getting married the day after you! We are also doing the luxury pkg and put our deposit down a while ago as well. Our TA called Angie the WC and we were told we get the rate we put a deposit on. Hope this helps!!

Hey Gals!

All of the DJ Ivan hoopla is pretty confusing. I just sent an email to Kimberly (Stateside WC) to ask about it as we currently have a quote from him and were about to pay the deposit and book. Does anyone else have her as your WC? I havent even started communicating with anyone actually based at the resort.

One more question- Does anyone know of any great, lower-cost companies for outings? We are looking to do something fun and special for our bridal party and sig others and thought a snorkeling tour or something like that might fit the bill. I would love to hear about any other ideas you may have.

Hope everyone is having a GREAT holiday season!

Just saw your post. Are you talking about not being charged for guests coming over to the wedding from the Gran Porto? We may have a few people staying there......

Thanks-
As far I know, any guests from Gran Porto or non guests will not get charged for attending the wedding/reception.

I believe Gran Porto guests are free to the amount included in your package. But there is a "non-guest fee" listed on the pricing spreadsheet. it might just be the charge for "extra guests".

You are right...i was referring to day passes. Just to be clear, they are not supposed to be charged for any day pass just to attend the wedding/reception.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
