At the moment I'm thinking that maybe I should have the free package and add on, with it being so expensive to go to MP from the UK nearlly £5,000gbp ($8332.50) per couple not that many people can afford to go, I have 13 booked at the moment, so is it really worth me spending $2000 on a wedding package? Also is there any point me having a private function with so few people? I really don't know what to do, I am having a reception when i get back.

Don't know what to do, any advice would be much appreciated.

i have gone with the free package, because as much as i fancied the diamond, there were things i didn't want (the horse and cart, fireworks etc) and things i wanted adding, and you don't get any give and take. if you dont want the bridal bouquet, you can't 'swap' it. you lose it if you buy another, you know? so the free one, with add-on's is better value, for me anyway.

as for the private event, im not sure either. at the moment im weighing it up. the only reason i really want one is because i figure every night of the holiday we'll be eating in the restaurants, so if we do on the night of the wedding, how will it be different to any other night, you know? but then i begrudge paying $400 per table, plus $60 per hour (after two hours) in an all inclusive resort. so im really not sure!

We went with the free package as well. I agree with the girls who say it is a better deal to just add on what you want. As for the private function....last time I checked, if you did a rooming contract for 10 rooms you got a private function for free. Now that may have changed since the last time I read through the material....seems that the promotions change all the time at these resorts. Right now they are doing deals on airfare to get you to MP. So you would have to check!

Good luck!

I called and they had lowered the rates down to the orbitz prices, but they were for other rooms that didn't have great views! I was like I don't care about the view-- we don't spend time on the balcony anyways!

Hello ladies!! I'm a 2011 bride and I've decided on Moon Palace although it's not set in stone as of yet. I'm glad to hear that MP will match the price of other vendors if you find a better deal. I've checked prices with MP and they are very high. However, as some of you have mentioned, Orbitz is MUCH cheaper! It's still way too early for me to worry about these things but I need as much info as possible, so as the date nears, I'll know what to do to get the bang for my buck. Thanks ladies!!

smile29.gifHello ladies,

I just got married at Aventura Spa last week...you can pick a package and change up on the flowers..also they show you one set of flowers on the website...but when you actually choose your package they give you a new set of papers with more choices... and I choose the diamond collection then changed it to the amethyst... I also at first chose the free package but while I was there kicked it up a notch.. but couldnt decide...I was also going the restaurant route..then POOF ended up having a private reception... I was a confused mess!! I also used there photograher...and here is one thing I totally recommend... if you do use there photographer... ask your WC to let you preview the pics by email...so that YOU can choose your pics..otherwise

they choose your pictures for you...which kinda pissed me off..and I let them know it... also...with the packages you get the photograph Package A i think..you can pay the differences between photo packages so that you can have the bigger picture selection...I also... paid the photographer by the hour and ended up keeping him for 2 hours... I got 3 discs with about 300 pictures..if you have any questions... you can email me if you like

take care...

Tinkatude,

I'm getting married at Sun palace. I was really curious about the photographs. Do you like the final product? Were you able to see the photographers work before you arrived? I was thinking about getting the Basic package because I wanted to make sure I got a lot of pictures on CD. I really don't want them to print out pictures for me because I plan on doing my own book and maybe framing one or two pictures. So did you get the photograph package A and than paid for another hour?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
