Dreams La Romana

Recommended Posts

Hello to all of you future La Romana Brides!

I finally managed to make my way over to this great forum...(thanks Amygirl1169 for pointing me in the right direction). I must say, I can certanily feel the excitement in each of your posts.

I orignially thought that I was going to get married in August but my fiance and I decided to submit Sept 1, 2 or 3 as our dates instead so that we could take advantage of lower airfares for family flying in.

I submited the wedding request form to Dreams (Tiara) on Sunday and I still haven't heard anything back - Normally, I wouldn't be freaking out but the website PROMISED that they would respond within "2 business days!"

Oh well, if it's one thing I've learned from reading each of your posts it's that the whole communication thing is definitely on "island time!!"

Happy to meet you all - Nadia

Hello Ladies!

Maybride2010atDreamsLR: I have lots of answers for you; however I don't know how useful they will be.

I am getting married on May 7, 2010 and are having the free wedding package and then upgrading/adding on anything additional that I want (which I am finding out is quite a bit and the price sure adds up quick!)

We are going to have our ceremony on the beach at 4pm. I am just waiting to hear back from Tiara about the pricing for the different arches that are available. As well, I am waiting to hear back about the chair situation; and if the price you pay includes the use of the chairs for both the ceremony and the reception.

I am having approximately 30 people attending and we are going to have a private beach reception with the Silver Menu ($30 USD per person + 26% taxes/service fees).

I am going to have the legal ceremony performed and I am going to be using WeDo to handle all of the paper work.

I want to have speakers which are iPod compatible for the beach reception and the first dance. However, I am not sure if this is possible and I am just waiting to hear back from Tiara about if it is possible and the price for it. I am not entirely sure what we will do after that, maybe disco, maybe lobby bar, but I am sure that it will all fall into place when the time comes. I have heard that the dance floor is just a few pieces of plywood stuck together and that it wasn't really worth it for the price.

I think that just about sums it all up. I have emailed Tiara a spreadsheet with everything that I want for the day and I am just waiting to hear back on prices and availability. So, if I get any useful information, I will be sure to post it.

Happy planning to all and thanks for everyoneâ€s input and help, it is definitely appreciated!

Hi everyone!!!

I'v been looking through all of the posts on this thread and have seen a few people mention Nin photography, has anyone got any information about his photo packages because the email that I just tried to send him was refused, apparantly the account is not active, and that's the email address that's on his site. Any info that anyone has would be really appreciated because the hotel photographer seems to be REALLY overpriced!!! Thanks in advance cheesy.gif

HJack,

Great, sounds like you and I are doing pretty much the same. I keep changing my mind between the gazebo, pier and beach for the ceremony. I would like to do the dinner by the pool though to avoid any blowing sand. Would be great to get the prices you have requested. Thanks. Hopefully, Tiara won't take too much time getting back to you. You are correct, the extras add up quickly. The free package doesn't even have bouquets for the bridesmaids where there are flowers growing wild everywhere there.

I found the wedo website yesterday and we have decided to do the legal ceremony as well.

Amy, Your dog is adorable. I would be scared also to leave my dog with other dogs under those conditions. I wish I had some answers for you.... Good luck with that.

I am sure it will all fall into place for all of us.

Welcome Nadia

Hi Vicky:

I'm not sure about Nin, it seems that you really have to chase them, when really they should be eager to offer their services to you! A lot of members have gone with HDC; I'll be going with them as well. Their work is spectacular...and PROVEN! There's even a thread dedicated to them, check it out

I'm all about proven results and when you read the comments on this thread, they are all good! So good luck, I hope you find a photographer that you're comfortable with.

Good news All:

I heard from Tiara!! YEA! She sent me a tonne of information (i guess it's the standard welcome-now-read-over-the-package stuff) but I was so happy to finally hear from her! Anyway, I thought that she was going to tell me if my dates were available (Sept 1,2 or 3) but she didn't mention any of that?!

Should I send her a seperate e-mail inquiring that? How did you ladies find out if your date was even available?

Maybride2010 Thanks for the welcome. This site is SOOO good, I can't stop telling people how much it's helped me! Also, thanks for the advice about WeDo - I'll see what they have to offer!

Thanks ladies!

Hi Jenne
I found this site for favours. Has some great ideas. Beach Wedding Favors, Beach Theme Wedding Ideas, Beach Wedding Decoration Accessories, Beach Wedding Reception, Beach Wedding Invitations I haven't decided on anything yet.

Happy planning. Liane

Has anyone decided to go for the ultimate package? After looking at the free package and adding up the extras that I would want it totals to about the same amount as the ultimate package so I am trying to decide whether it's worth it or not! So many choices!!!!

Nadia

Thanks so much for the info! I have looked at the forum and his photos and they look great! Will email them and see if I can get a reply! Everything just seems to take so much longer out there than i'm used to here!

Thanks again!

Hi Vicky,

We have booked the Ultimate Wedding Package. I thought it was the best choice (for us)! With everything it includes, we didn't even bother to compare with the free package and all the add-ons. The only things we'll have to pay extra for are our extra guests (over 20), any extra decorations that we want and bridesmaids bouquets I think. I am thinking of just bringing our own bridesmaids bouqets to save on the cost though anyway. When is your wedding?

Jen

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
