I will pass on any information I find out and please keep posting, your posts have been very helpful.

Since you have been there before what is your opinion of having the reception at the Jungle restaurant. I was originally thinking of the seaside grill but have seen some great pics of the Jungle. Thanks!

Oh nice! Be sure to say Hi if you see me walking around! Hopefully I'm not the stressball in the white dress!

Did you guys read the wedding review posted yesterday about the girl who was so sick on her wedding day that she missed the entire reception? Poor thing! sad.gif

Funnily, a few friends of mine have co-workers going to DLR the same week as us and getting married the day before - the 27th. Is that anyone of you guys?? lol

Hi there, Unfortunately, the Jungle restaurant was not there when I stayed there. Or it was different name, the only outside restaurant was the seaside grill, which was both inside and outside. The seaside grill was where and I watched a wedding take place. It was really beautiful but casual. What is your wedding date? Mine is May 3. I was wondering if it is in the same week?
I was reading the information from the resort last night and it is saying only up to 20 guests can eat at any of the restaurants except the World cafe, where it can be more. I have 30 people coming, but don't want to have it at the world cafe.

I was thinking of doing the dinner beside the pool but I can't find a price on this. I hope I am not the only confused bride.

Also thinking I might bring an Ipod dock for the first dance... by the pool and then go to the disco for the dance part of the reception. What are you doing for the reception? I read about getting a DJ and a dance floor.

Good luck with your planning. Keep posting!!

I am sure you won't be a stressball. I will definately find you and say Hi. I will put up a pic of me on my profile when I get on my computer. I am on my work computer and only had a pic of my dog. LOL.

That would be horrible to be sick on your wedding day. Poor girl.

Can't wait to go but will be much happier when I have all my plans taken care of. Are you organized yet? Wedding? Dinner? Reception?

Ya, it'll be fun to bump into all the ladies we've been sharing ideas and questions with online while at the resort!

I just know that I'm doing the symbolic ceremony in the gazebo and the reception at the Seaside Grill (I think!), going with the free package and upgrading as necessary to have a private reception.

I'm not going to worry about it too much until we get closer to the date. Lord knows Tiara certainly isn't humouring us anxious brides, so I figure there's not much I can do at this point!

Otherwise, I have pretty much everything else planned out in my head, just need to confirm final numbers of attendees in order to start placing orders for things like favours, mugs, etc.

I once got so sick in the DR that the doctor had to come to the room and give me an injection (can't remember of what) so that I would stop throwing up. But it was many years ago and pretty much my fault for overindulging for 4 straight days! I really hope no of us get sick on our wedding days!

What are you guys doing with your furbabies while you're away? That's the one thing that's making me not want to stay longer than the 1 week. My dog will probably go on hunger strike until we return!

May 15 is our date and should be getting there May 12 so maybe will cross paths! The price for reception by the pool is the cost of the silver or gold package for dinner ( i think around $32 per head plus taxes for silver). We are also thinking of this as well, will not be sure until we get there and see the locations and decided if its worth the extra money to be at the pool.

We are thinking of the ipod dock as well, but it says that no music can be played in the restaurants if you do not rent it out. So hopefully if we go with one of the restaurants there are ppl walking around playing music.

Most of my plans are ideas as not sure on final head count.

You sound like you have most of your ducks in a row. I think I am going to take your advice and not panic until I get much closer. I did read on the resort site that we can bring our own decorations. Just something to think about.

Dog boarding....
I am going to check out a place in Port Hope on Friday for my two spoiled rotton bouviers. The thought of putting them in a kennel just kills me. I have been looking into Pet resorts.
There is one in Whitby called Camp lotsa dogs, you can check out their website. Camp LotsaDogs Day & Sleepover Camp for Dogs. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that they crate the dogs at night.
There is another pet resort in Muskoka, in Huntsville called /www.happytails.on.ca/.

The one I am checking out is called Waggin' Tails Ranch & Spa. It's in Port Hope, sounds great and they don't crate, which means alot to me. They have rooms with beds, couches, dog beds on floor and Tv's with doggy movies playing. It is also closer to my home. So I am crossing my fingers that this will be the best place.

We have decided to stay only one week in Dominican because of our dogs. Liane

Don't worry, mine either! Well, she's older and lives in Newfoundland, probably wouldn't come unless we held it in her backyard! Even then, who knows...lol...
Feel free to share your drama!

Wow, you're going all out! For some reason big dogs, particularly huskies, do NOT like my dog and tend to attack him. I think it has something to do with his overly happy demeanor and he's not exactly a small dog, but not a big dog (he's a pug/bull dog), so they tend to go straight for him and attack to kill! I've had to stop going to the dog park, because even huskies that are supposedly so well behaved (according to their owners) just snap and attack him! This has happened on a few occassions with different huskies, so I'm really scared to leave him at a place with other dogs. sad.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
